BabadookAlbania (talk | contribs) (I'm the guy who tweeted about the dub episodes on amazon prime on twitter. After listening to some Leomon clips and asking other people, I'm 99% sure Zakira was played by Paul St. Peter. Since it isn't exactly confirmed, feel free to take this off.) Tag: Visual edit |

+ | He is the leader of the Fua Duelists. He is marked as "Z" and ranked as 1st in the organization. Regardless of the original manga or anime adaptation, his goal is to kill every other non-GARDE duelist in the world so he and his group will reign supreme and is the conductor of multiple massacres and killing sprees. |

− | He is the leader of the Fua Duelists. He is marked as (Z) and ranked as 1st in the organization. |
||
+ | Zakira is a very destructive and callous person who would use whatever means to achieve his goals. This includes directly attacking other's beloved in order to do physical damage, brainwashing his enemies into serving him and even destroying the world. He would even go as far as sacrificing one of his high ranking duelist's memory of love just to get Shobu and publicly humiliate Another one after his betrayal and defeat. |
||
+ | On the other hand, he is also very charismatic and some people would devote their life for him, such as Ash, causing him to have the highest amount of followers in any enemy organization built by the hands of man, as well as the most ethnically diverse. |
||
− | ==History== |
||
− | He was known as "No. 1" when he was young. In his 14th birthday, he challenged the Fua Duelist's leader at that time, "Zeus" in a duel. He used Necrodragon Guljeneraid and Supernova Apollonus Dragerion to defeat Zeus and became the cult leader known as "Z". |
||
+ | Despite being the commander of an enemy organization, it is not uncommon for Zakira to act directly. |
||
⚫ | |||
+ | Unlike Benny Haha who only defeats his enemies via despicable means and cheating, Zakira relies on and delights on raw cruelty, skill, cunning and power against his enemies. |
||
⚫ | While the professor's Discard tactics and Vacuum Crawler lock proved to be a challenge for him, Zakira used a reanimate strategy using Romanov the 1st, Lord of the Demonic Eye and Beginning Romanov, Lord of the Demonic Eye and won the duel. Since then, he decided to destroy all duelists |

+ | After a chain of events which supposedly led to his demise and Shobu's 'death', an image of Zakira frozen in stone waiting for his revival was inside the base of the tower and remained in one of the destroyed bases in the frigid lands of Antarctica in a frozen state. Basara was guided by the light from Forbidden, which led him to his location. The Zakira image had awaited his arrival, and when Basara arrived, he unfroze and dueled him in order to test his worth of having Forbidden. As the whole area was converted to an actual duel field, the duelists took physical damage if a shield was broken. During the match, the Zakira image stopped Basara's 3 turn kill with a Hell's Scrapper shield trigger. He viewed Basara's Invasion cards (particularly Redzone) and speed based deck as interesting, but he retaliated by using Poppo Juvira, Winged God-destroyer to ease the summoning of Death Phoenix, Avatar of Doom and burn his opponent's shields. Even though Basara managed to summon Forbidden to end the duel in a stalemate, The Zakira image removed the creature from the field with All Delete. This revealed the Forbidden Legend Rare inside the Forbidden. Seeing that Basara's dark desires allowed him to use the card and read the Forbidden Characters, he let Basara have the unsealed version of the said creature before giving him a warning and fading away. |
− | + | Due to the reemergence of Dokindam X and the image of Zakira responsible for it, Shobu had taken extra measures to prevent Basara and the organization from repeating the same events and to protect Katta, in which he might be aware of the current situation. |
|
+ | |||
+ | Ironically, his presence vanished into thin air after the episode and he was never heard of again. |
||
==Manga== |
==Manga== |
||
+ | While not mentioned in the main manga, Zakira's past was featured in various side stories in Fighting Edge and Star Cross. |
||
+ | |||
+ | He was born in England. He is an ambitious child prodigy known as "No. 1" and challenged the former leader of GARDE, Zeus in a duel during his 14th birthday. He defeated him easily using Necrodragon Guljeneraid and Supernova Apollonus Dragerion in a duel and had all 17 initial members of GARDE to defect to him instead. At 15 years old, he entered Oxford University with Ash and Oasis (who are also English like him). He became friends with those two boys. |
||
+ | |||
⚫ | |||
+ | |||
Since then, he decided to destroy all duelists, with Oasis and Ash fervently joining his cause. |
||
+ | |||
+ | Later on, he went to Yaesar for mentorship. In actuality, he was planning on backstabbing and usurping him. He then led a mass killing spree during the first World Tournament where GARDE killed almost everyone within it and Shori failing to do anything against him. It's implied, but not directly shown that he captured Yaesar and brainwashed him into becoming his right-hand man, Yesman. |
||
+ | |||
+ | During an unspecified period, he killed Esmeralda's parents and staged an attack in Egypt where Horus's parents are killed. He also ordered Gedo to kill Hakuoh's mother during his birthday. |
||
+ | |||
+ | Just like any other member of GARDE, Zakira cannot be physically damaged outside of a duel and is strong enough to impale a man through his skull using his bare fists. He also knows special abilities such as curses and psychokinesis, the former that he used to cripple Shori Kirifuda, leading to his presumed death. |
||
+ | |||
+ | During an unknown point, he brainwashed his own sister Yu Fua and ordered her to steal Bolmeteus Steel Dragon for him. |
||
+ | |||
+ | Zakira first appears hooded and accompanied by his bodyguards Perfect and Quattro after Yu's failure and return to her senses, which she apologizes to. He pretends to forgive her and let her keep the card, but actually had Ash snipe the card out from her and declared her a traitor for her failures. After snagging the card, Shobu, Mimi and Rekuta lead a wild goose chase against him and his subordinates across the city until they all end up in a park, where Zakira takes Rekuta hostage and laughed at his deck, finding his trump card, a 0000+ power Terradragon Anrist Vhal funny. Shobu duels him and Mimi duels Quattro only to be effortlessly defeated. It was by this time where Hakuoh tried to intervene physically only for Zakira to deal him a blow that made him lost all of his memories, before fleeing with the Bolmeteus Steel Dragon. |
||
+ | |||
+ | He then ordered his subordinates to steal all Awakening Cards as Shobu makes his way to the Fua Castle. Despite some members facing defeat, Zakira eventually steals most of them courtesy of some members ambushing Shobu and his friends after winning against the initial members and snagging the cards by force. His minion Gedo also manages to abduct Hakuoh when Jason and Kirumi are looking for Alphadios, Lord of Spirits and Heavyweight Dragon. Zakira spots Shobu on his way to the fortress and challenges him to a duel, sporting his own Awakening Card; a Death Phoenix, Avatar of Doom. |
||
+ | |||
+ | Unlike in the Anime, this duel works slightly more in Shobu's favor, although Zakira still comes out victorious in the end. Shobu not only manages to attempt a comeback and break all of his shields during his 6th turn (instead of being struck down effortlessly), he also broke his right arm with Bolsred Fire Dragon in the middle of it. However, due to him pulling out a last minute Burst Shot, all of Shobu's Fire Birds were destroyed and he was unable to finish him off. Death Phoenix almost killed Shobu only for Potman to take the hit and die instead. |
||
+ | |||
===Duel Masters: Fighting Edge=== |
===Duel Masters: Fighting Edge=== |
||
+ | After defeating Shobu and collecting all five Awakening Cards, Zakira re-labels his Fua Duelists as GARDE and starts his operation proper to capture the Duel Masters from their respective countries and repeat the tragedy that occurred a decade ago; a horrific massacre in the Duel Masters World Tournament. He also replaced his lost right arm with a metal prosthetic. The elite members of the Guard also physically step into action and assist in his schemes. |
||
− | After the revolution, the more powerful members of the cult started to appear. He treats Shobu's resistance as a joke and his cult members attempts to capture the Duel Masters from all around the world. |
||
+ | He defeated Toy and sends Rich, Shizuka and Thoth to respectively Spain and Egypt. He attacked India and stole Heavy Death Metal for his own use, then went to Egypt and Spain, capturing Horus for Thoth and defeating Esmeralda. However, due to physical fatigue from a series of grueling duels all over the world, he took a break to restore his own body in a regenerative tub, giving Dr. Root a window to break in and save Toy, Horus and Esmeralda. He sent Vavelle as retaliation against Root, only for Root to defeat Vavelle. |
||
− | In the second world tournament he calls all of his Fua Duelists and attempts to collapse the tournament. However, White resisted and the plan failed. Hakuoh then is defeated by Yesman and his defeat is even shown to the public. He then challenges Shobu and used Heavy Death Metal and Zero Phoenix, Phoenix of Darkness to have Shobu close to losing only to be defeated by him. |
||
+ | In the second world tournament he assembles all members of the Guard (Bar Yuu and Xanadu, who were supposedly in "side missions") and announces to the world that he will delete all duelists (i.e. killing everyone in the World Tournament). White regains his consciousness as Hakuoh and challenges Gedo to a duel as revenge for killing his mother, only to be stopped and defeated by Yesman and his defeat is even shown to the public. He then orders GARDE to kill everyone in the vicinity in the same way he did during the first Duel Masters world tournament. It was at this time where Shobu challenged him out of rage over him causing Hakuoh's death, which he gleefully accepts despite being in an incomplete state. At first, Zakira used the Heavy Death Metal cards he stole from India against him. Despite Uma Khan's warnings that the cards will kill its owner, they instead recognized Zakira as their rightful owner, bestowing him wings, restoring him to his original state and joining him in the world tournament massacre. When they were disassembled, he had his real trump card, Zero Phoenix, Phoenix of Darkness to have Shobu close to losing only to be defeated by his Bolpheus Heaven, Super Holy Dragon and Last Violence combo, a result of his friendship with Hakuoh. Shobu refuses to kill Zakira despite having been very furious against him, having reminded that he will not kill in a duel unlike him. Shobu spares Zakira as a result, and the renegade duelist calls off the massacre and escapes with his ship, averting a repeat of the horrible tragedy that occurred a decade ago. |

Nearly all the cult members were dead aside of a few but the few were attacked by Xanadu's cloning ability. He himself dueled Xanadu and defeated it. However, before it dies Xanadu unleashes a destruction ray and Ash blocks the attack with Zakira and Ash receiving massive damage. By this point, all Fua Duelists except for Ash and himself had died. |

By this point, all Fua Duelists except for Ash and himself had died. |

⚫ | Zakira's mind was disrupted by Xanadu but he managed to continue his ascent to Adam. He broke free of the mind disruption, seemingly kills Trouble and went to try dueling and killing the still-amnesiac Adam. Feeling that his and the cult's freedom have been deprived, he decides to defeat Adam, holding a Mad Rock Chester deck and liberate the cult. |
||
− | However, he dueled against Adam with a Mad Rock Chester deck and had no way to win against the original gods and Rumble Lecter, Terror Awakened. He lost and was killed along with Ash. |
||
+ | However, as the duel goes on, Adam's memories awakened, and the formerly amnesiac and child-like boy slowly turns into the vengeful original duelist he once was. He was quickly defeated by the original gods and Rumble Lecter, Terror Awakened. He lost and was killed by Adam along with Ash, with their spirit bidding Shobu one last farewell before ascending to the sky. This leaves Shobu as the only person who can stop Adam's wrath. |

Nationality | England |
Zakira Fua is an evil duelist and the main antagonist of both Shori and Shobu, and is also the one controlling Yu Fua (his younger sister) from the start of the Duel Masters series.
He is the leader of the Fua Duelists. He is marked as "Z" and ranked as 1st in the organization. Regardless of the original manga or anime adaptation, his goal is to kill every other non-GARDE duelist in the world so he and his group will reign supreme and is the conductor of multiple massacres and killing sprees.
Personality
Zakira is a very destructive and callous person who would use whatever means to achieve his goals. This includes directly attacking other's beloved in order to do physical damage, brainwashing his enemies into serving him and even destroying the world. He would even go as far as sacrificing one of his high ranking duelist's memory of love just to get Shobu and publicly humiliate Another one after his betrayal and defeat.
On the other hand, he is also very charismatic and some people would devote their life for him, such as Ash, causing him to have the highest amount of followers in any enemy organization built by the hands of man, as well as the most ethnically diverse.
Despite being the commander of an enemy organization, it is not uncommon for Zakira to act directly.
Unlike Benny Haha who only defeats his enemies via despicable means and cheating, Zakira relies on and delights on raw cruelty, skill, cunning and power against his enemies.
Anime
He then later appears in the Duel Masters Charge, Duel Masters Cross and Duel Masters Cross Shock seasons of the anime.
Duel Masters Charge
His goal is to obtain the Duel Master's Proof and use it for his evil means.
He has multiple agents working under him as members of GARDE, and operates from a large castle.
- Each of these are ranked in terms of increasing power in alphabetical order from A to Z (Z being himself).
Duel Masters Versus Revolution
An image of Zakira reappears in Katta Kirifuda's time through Basara and the card he uses in the past. However, he only appears as an image of himself in there. This exists as a plot hole since in this timeline, Zakira lost all of his powers and died to Adam in Antarctica.
The area where Duel Masters Land was located is where Zakira had destroyed most of the duelists during Shobu's time (The remains of the first Duel Masters Tourney as seen in Fighting Edge). The card he uses was kept in an ancient seal in the deep underground of the park, in which only the President of the park and Duemouse were able to access. Despite being sealed for years, the dark spirit was able to reach Basara, prompting him to break the seal and obtain the card.
After a chain of events which supposedly led to his demise and Shobu's 'death', an image of Zakira frozen in stone waiting for his revival was inside the base of the tower and remained in one of the destroyed bases in the frigid lands of Antarctica in a frozen state.
Due to the reemergence of Dokindam X and the image of Zakira responsible for it, Shobu had taken extra measures to prevent Basara and the organization from repeating the same events and to protect Katta, in which he might be aware of the current situation.
Ironically, his presence vanished into thin air after the episode and he was never heard of again.
Manga
While not mentioned in the main manga, Zakira's past was featured in various side stories in Fighting Edge and Star Cross.
He was born in England.
He later entered university alongside Ash, Oasis and their friends. On his graduation day, his professor asked a question which was known as "The greatest Mathematics mystery". Zakira answered the question correctly and was challenged to a duel by the professor.
While the professor's Discard tactics and Vacuum Crawler lock proved to be a challenge for him, Zakira used a reanimate strategy using Romanov the 1st, Lord of the Demonic Eye and Beginning Romanov, Lord of the Demonic Eye and won the duel. Since then, he decided to destroy all duelists, with Oasis and Ash fervently joining his cause.
Later on, he went to Yaesar for mentorship.
During an unspecified period, he killed Esmeralda's parents and staged an attack in Egypt where Horus's parents are killed. He also ordered Gedo to kill Hakuoh's mother during his birthday.
Just like any other member of GARDE, Zakira cannot be physically damaged outside of a duel and is strong enough to impale a man through his skull using his bare fists. He also knows special abilities such as curses and psychokinesis, the former that he used to cripple Shori Kirifuda, leading to his presumed death.
During an unknown point, he brainwashed his own sister Yu Fua and ordered her to steal Bolmeteus Steel Dragon for him.
Zakira first appears hooded and accompanied by his bodyguards Perfect and Quattro after Yu's failure and return to her senses, which she apologizes to.
He then ordered his subordinates to steal all Awakening Cards as Shobu makes his way to the Fua Castle.
Unlike in the Anime, this duel works slightly more in Shobu's favor, although Zakira still comes out victorious in the end.
Duel Masters: Fighting Edge
After defeating Shobu and collecting all five Awakening Cards, Zakira re-labels his Fua Duelists as GARDE and starts his operation proper to capture the Duel Masters from their respective countries and repeat the tragedy that occurred a decade ago; a horrific massacre in the Duel Masters World Tournament. He also replaced his lost right arm with a metal prosthetic. The elite members of the Guard also physically step into action and assist in his schemes.
He defeated Toy and sends Rich, Shizuka and Thoth to respectively Spain and Egypt.
In the second world tournament he assembles all members of the Guard (Bar Yuu and Xanadu, who were supposedly in "side missions") and announces to the world that he will delete all duelists (i.e. killing everyone in the World Tournament).
Duel Masters: Star Cross
A mission was started in Antarctica along with all of his cult members but was betrayed by Xanadu who is an impostor as the original Xanadu was revealed to have been killed.
Zakira's mind was disrupted by Xanadu but he managed to continue his ascent to Adam. He broke free of the mind disruption, seemingly kills Trouble and went to try dueling and killing the still-amnesiac Adam. Feeling that his and the cult's freedom have been deprived, he decides to defeat Adam, holding a Mad Rock Chester deck and liberate the cult.
However, as the duel goes on, Adam's memories awakened, and the formerly amnesiac and child-like boy slowly turns into the vengeful original duelist he once was. He was quickly defeated by the original gods and Rumble Lecter, Terror Awakened. He lost and was killed by Adam along with Ash, with their spirit bidding Shobu one last farewell before ascending to the sky. This leaves Shobu as the only person who can stop Adam's wrath.
Duel Masters Z
Twelve years after his death, in a side story he was reborn in a new volcano as a new lifeform.
Responding to the Romanov's call, he regained his memories. He then became invincible and was unable to be destroyed by Bolmeteus Steel Dragon's flames. He then sworn revenge against the universe, grew wings and flew into the vastness of space.
Deck
Zakira uses a combination of Water Darkness and Fire cards, but he sometimes uses Light Civilization cards. His deck focuses on the race of Zombie Dragon's with his cards being focused on sending cards to the graveyard.
