SEO/Category Improvements

Hi Yami Michael,

Fandom is in the midst of a project to improve the SEO of its wikis by ensuring each wiki's top-level category (the category which contains all other categories) follows the {{SITENAME}} naming convention. You may notice me adding/tweaking some categories to reflect this improvement, but I wanted to give you a heads up and let you know that this change shouldn't affect how you folks organize articles on the wiki. This change will primarily affect search engines' ability to find content efficiently. If you have any questions about this, don't hesitate to ask!

That sounds fine. Do you think I can get any staff assistance regarding w:c:community:Thread:1954961 and broken Template:Tooltips. While a fix was deployed to get them to appear on this wiki, they are still using an old version of tooltips (JoePlay), not the Dev Fandom version. And on the https://duelmastersplays.fandom.com/ wiki that just got copied over to UCP, nothing displays, as the old version doesn't work on UCP at all. I need any .css/js help to get tooltips UCP-compliant. — Yami Michael 04:43, August 20, 2020 (UTC)

Aqua Surfer

It seems that Type8 uploaded Dmx12b-70, 71 and 73 to the wrong names so I fixed the order for you.

I don't suppose you could translate the flavor text Dmx12b-70 through 73? Chimera-gui (talk) 02:32, 30 January 2021 (UTC)

Done the flavors. Thanks for the image fix. — Yami Michael

Names

DMRP 17-18 pages don't use the main names, which are indicated on the Takara Tomy Mall site (https://takaratomymall.jp/shop/c/cDM/). I am wondering why we are using the short parts at the end instead of the main part of the name, or just the entire name.

To expand on this, the name with have for DMRP11 is Zero Birth! Maji's Jornado 1059!!. The site has the same (https://takaratomymall.jp/shop/g/g4904810132745/), 零誕!魔神おこせジョルネード1059!!

Next is 12. We have it as SuperSuperSuper Top! The Awakening Joghiragon vs. Zeeron Bang-Tan. The site has the same thing (https://takaratomymall.jp/shop/g/g4904810136699/), 超超超天!覚醒ジョギラゴン vs. 零龍卍誕.

13 is Kirifuda x Onifuda King Wars!!!. That's what the site has as well (https://takaratomymall.jp/shop/g/g4904810145127/), 切札x鬼札 キングウォーズ!!!.

You can see where I'm going with this. With the most recent block, the names are kind of long. So they have the main part of the name, and the full name. the main name is the big bold characters on the pack, the ones made for you to see first. It is also the ones That the Takara Tomy Mall site uses exclusively, leaving out the rest of the name.

DMRP17 is listed as RexStars and Dispector on our site. The main part of the name, on the store, is The Legend of The Great Star. In Japanese this is 王星伝説超動. As seen on the site (https://takaratomymall.jp/shop/g/g4904810174578/) They use those characters only. The box and packs shows those in big bold, with the rest being left out. Indicating that The Legend of the Great Star is seemingly the main name, and the one we should be using.

Next is DMRP18.We have it as Miracle Forbidden. The site has it as The Coming of the Forbidden Time King (Slight change from Invasion, more accurate translation I believe), 禁時王の凶来 in Japanese. These characters are big and bold, the first thing you see on the box and pack regarding the name. Miracle Forbidden is just the small words at the top, same with RexStars and Dispectors. These leads me to believe The Coming of the Forbidden Time King is the main name, and the one we should be using.

Thank you for your time. Y-Encounter (talk) 01:58, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Y-Encounter

Leaving my position with Fandom

Hi there,

You and I have been in contact on occasion about wiki-related matters since I started as the Wiki Representative for your community, so I wanted to give you a heads up that I will be leaving my position with Fandom at the end of next week. After next Friday (June 25th), I will not be your contact-person for wiki-related matters anymore, and after that point, it is unlikely you will see activity from me on your wiki. It is possible that your wiki will receive a different Wiki Representative to support you going forward. However, if some time passes after I am gone and the Special:Community page on your wiki isn’t updated to show a new wiki representative, then you will have to send any future requests/inquiries to either the Fandom/Gamepedia Discord server or submit a request via Zendesk for things that you may have previously sent to me. If your wiki doesn’t end up automatically getting a new WR and you believe you need one, you can see if Fandom will be able to assign you a replacement wiki representative by submitting a Zendesk ticket.

Collaborating with your community has been a pleasure, and if we happen to not chat again within the next week and a half, I wish you the best of luck with your wiki! 🙂

(Keep in mind: you’re welcome to continue contacting me about wiki-related matters until June 25th. I’m still your wiki representative until then).

That's a shame, but thanks for letting me now. While I didn't need too much assistance lately, I'm sure in time I probably would with the new fandom skin, yeah. Good luck with whatever you do outside of community central/wiki stuff. — Yami Michael 04:16, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
