Caps on abilities

I noticed you've been changing the 2nd caps on abilities like Triple breaker and such. If you notice, the English cards all had the second word in the ability in lower-case. For consistency, it just makes more sense. That's why I've been doing it that way. Blackworm Bloodworm 13:14, August 6, 2010 (UTC)

  • Yeah, your right, ill probably revert the ones ive changed. It just...bugs me, haha. Shield trigger is the same way. CCGDB is also the same way, with it having the Breaker or Trigger in capitals. Not really something that's really effected me till now, in either usage, it both redirects to the same section on the card mechanics. Yami_Michael 13:19, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
    • Right now im more concerned on cleaning up any other errors and getting the last cards missing onto the wiki in the next 70 days or w/e, plenty of other time to debate whether Triple Breaker or Triple breaker seems better.
    • Also, I use the — markup code hyphen instead of a normal hyphen, to make things like "Vortex evolution - " more true to the original cards. Just explaing my reasoning in hopes that you'll agree. And yeah, I kinda figured it was a pet peeve, so I can't blame you. By the way, there's also a lot of incorrect things in CCGDB, but that's why we're here to make the improvement. Blackworm Bloodworm 13:23, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
    • I agree on the priorites. I'll make the changes in the mean time, if you don't want to. Blackworm Bloodworm 13:26, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
      • Yeah, guess I have more small pet peeves like that then I thought. Never really understood why the TCG went with the lowercase on breaker, the capital just makes it seem more dramatic somehow. Im fine with the other — and the black square/circles used on effects, just not used to using them yet. Like I said, right now I just want the cards up and running and then can look into things like that. Ill have to start getting used to having them copied to put them in the pages. And yes, ccgdb does have errors, but that's what the wiki is for, to fix things like that, and including things ccgdb cant have.
        • If you want to go back on the English cards and put them back to breaker, go ahead. Im sure if you checked any of the cards ive added in the past few months though, a lot most likely have "Breaker" rather than "breaker". If we had more people on the wiki, I would do a vote or something. I do try to keep this wiki English-focused when possible, but that's obviously difficult with OCG having so much more other content. Aesthetic Overhaul

I've been planning to give the wiki an aesthetic enhancement for quite some time now. I was going to start with changing the way the cards on set articles are listed, making them more like the DM main site and thus, more user-friendly. This will be tedious, but I've already finished the basic table for the base set main page.

I would like to change the page background and wiki wallpaper, as well as the side bar and make it more flavorful. For now, the wallpaper would be temporary, but it's better than what we have now, I think you'll agree.

In order to do all this, and show you my idea, I'd need you to give me administrator privileges. I'll leave that decision up to you, if you deem I'm trustworthy enough.

If you could give me your email, I could send you a .TXT containing the code for the table so you can preview it on the Base set page or wherever (The code is a bit messy, but manageable). My email is:

Blackworm Bloodworm 01:31, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

  • That reminds me, ive been needing to show you It brings in a few worries, as they will removing the current skins wikia's use, while replacing it with a new skin called "Wikia" that will be put on each wiki. The .css file for getting ready for it has already been added recently to this wiki, currently only the 5 wikis (Glee, Twilight, Red Dead Wiki, Muppet Wiki, and Healthy Recipes) are currently using the new format. While there has been many protests by users (check the comments on each blog post they do, its rare to find anyone happy with it that isn't a wiki staff. I'm currently waiting until it can be shown on this wiki till I make the complete judgment on the new skin.]\
    • About that... Are they making that crappy new skin mandatory? Because all the wikis using customized monobook (Which we'd need to use), like the Tron wiki and Uncyclopedia, will all be very angry. If you can save a copy of this wikis layout and everything on it or something like that, then please do. If there's a chance we can revert or keep our current layout, it'd be crucial to keep all the data of it. Blackworm Bloodworm 03:17, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
      • I will have to find the exact post, but there's been a FAQ post once or twice that should have it. If memory serves though, thinks like Monaco/monobook are gone. Its gonna be a mandatory thing, even forcing us to accept the new Terms of use and all that crap. You should be able to save the current css file, rather than the one edited a few days ago (will have to search the recent changes from the last week or so, I left a talk page on it.)
  • When you say you want the cards listed similar to the main DM site? You refer to how the card database shows the set contents in the grid format? Like something like the page?
  • Do you have a link to the wallpaper you have in mind for the site? I could test it out and see if it works.
  • I do trust you, specially considering the only other editors we really have is random contributors (Usually us, heh), or at times Tersos as well. Only other real contributor has been Gadjiltron, and those aren't often. Right now I'll leave the user rights as they are, as I am waiting for the new skin. Any files you want to show though can be emailed to I guess, Ill probably take the link out in a few days, to avoid other spam. Yami Michael 02:33, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
    • ok, and Holy crap. They took the English site down. As you can see in my post though, we can use however.
    • God, what BS... You're dead on about the chances of revival going down the tubes. At least they kept the English card database. Blackworm Bloodworm 03:17, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
      • Totally surprised me when I went to go look at it to remember it completely, but at least the waybackmachine site works. Glad I finally had a use for that site, rarely get to. 04:14, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
        • Obviously those edits were really me, and I have a lot of the staff blog to read. Haven't read it in a few days, and there's thousands of comments to read through by people against the change, the recent FAQ at least has them acknowledge people are against it, but they still don't care. I never saw wikia as a faceless corporation of sorts, but it certainly feels like it when you read through it all. Yami Michael 04:16, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Thank You

Hey, Yami. It's really nice to see that the wiki I started so long ago has come this far relatively quickly, even getting mention on TV Tropes of all places! Anyway, I'm proud of the work you have put into maintaining the wiki and letting grow as it did. Keep it up, I'm proud that something I started actually ended up being a success!

EHeroFlareNeos 03:41, April 19, 2011 (UTC)

Glad it grew like this as well. :P Yami Michael 11:02, April 19, 2011 (UTC)

Artist galleries

What do you think of the idea of adding a gallery page for every artist to this wiki? It should list every card which's artwork was designed by that artist (including alternate artworks, if the artwork changed totally).

Of course that could imply some work. Tersos 10:44, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

  • Getting each artist linked is easy enough, categorising each card with the artist would take way too much tho.
  • A simple way of doing it would be just change the card table to autolink the info in artist, however when dealing with cards from multiple sets that either have the set number, or other artists, it would add into a few issues.

On each artist page, even before creation, it can be easily seen with "whatlinkshere" to see cards done by the artist, so compiling lists (and as a result, galleries) of cards done by each artist. Its only just recently after getting the missing promo/early-dmc packs that this could even work well. Of course, even though I had recently started to add each set to early cards to show each release, I did kinda skip over additional artists (And flavor, but a lot arent findable in text form, I've looked).

Since pictures would be easily added in either slideshow/regular gallery, designing those pages are easy at least. One thing that might help though is I have a few important bookmarks. Some are actual sites ran by the artists, and there's also another "DM artist wiki" that has links to their webpages, which is of course where a lot of the specific card arts come from.

When I'm not lazy, I'll get them off the laptop and post them here or whatever. Ill probably even make a test page, and try to get the page design down. In the worst case, I might have to just add some form of "artist1/2/3" to the card table. Lots to do, lots to do, and im rambling.

edit: Of course, there is the option of manually searching a card artist and adding "[[]]" around each artist and doing it that way, but that also has the option of being slow. And we are talking about 4-5k cards here... Yami Michael 12:18, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Thx for your permission. I will add artist categories. i will work maybe for 1 small race in 2 days and some cards that i accidentally seeing. P.S sorry for my bad English WereborG 14:18, June 7, 2011 (UTC)

  • I actually told you to stop adding the artist, and was going to see if there was a much faster way with the card tables. Yami Michael 01:18, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

About Artist

It might be frown upon, but is it fine to do a section (and pages) on artists for Duel Master? The art of DM always thrilled me beyond its other components :3 Waileukwu 16:16, October 22, 2011 (UTC)

  • Its something that's in the work, I just need/want a lot of other links to the artists homepages rather than just 3/4.

These aren't sorted by artist as I had to clean them up and rename after they were uploaded, but this is what I have.

If you meant a page for each artist or a list of cards each artist has done for it, that's also something I want at some point. Just always a lot of other things to do. Yami Michael 23:45, October 22, 2011 (UTC)

I'd like such a page too. I love the art in DM more than anything else. But, finding information about the artists like that (well, Wikipedia-styled info, if that's what you're going for) would be kinda hard, no? ☆ Brandnewkid 04:16, October 23, 2011 (UTC)

Doing a complete info writeup about each artist would be a bit much, because even If I had the would leave you translating it, lol. So yeah, not going to do that. I was really just thinking of a setup similar to the Promotional Gallery page with either different artist galleries (If an artist has a lot of art) on the same or different pages.

I guess that brings another question too, do we want them for just the artworks or the cards themselves? Or a mix of both? Yami Michael 05:35, October 23, 2011 (UTC)

I personally op for page for both. Like a page on the Artists (major ones anyway), then bellow it are cards he/she drawn, similar to JP DM Wiki that have some sort of page for the major artists. I don't mind to write about the artists themselves, but would have to do some research myself. Waileukwu 06:36, October 23, 2011 (UTC)

ShoPro Card Images

Yami, make sure you keep those large card images I uploaded from the ShoPro site somewhere safe, or at least make sure they are still accessible, as I've noticed you've been replacing a lot of them with scans. The reason for this being they are still the highest quality images of those cards, and more importantly they no longer exist on the ShoPro site, meaning they are not obtainable anywhere anymore. Keep this in mind, please. I don't really have the time to personally go back and save them all myself. -- Blackworm Bloodworm 15:34, November 10, 2011 (UTC)

I should be able to find them easily enough by going through your contributions, I hope I haven't got rid of any by mistake. While I like the other scans I'm currently using..that's usually because of the bigger size which allows the text to be clearer when seeing the full image. Ill see what I can do about saving those images. Yami Michael 15:38, November 10, 2011 (UTC)

Rumble Lecter effect?

Hi, I was looking at the trivia of Rumble Lecter, Terror Awakened and I was wondering if the effect really bypassed Perfect Galaxy, Spirit of Immortality's effect as well as release. Those effects activate when the creatures leave the battle zone, and Rumble's effect says that it destroys and destroying counts as leaving the battle zone, so is the trivia correct? Cause it sounds a bit weird.

IIIIIzz 14:08, January 1, 2012 (UTC)'s

I had to google for the similar thing about it, but is the full read.

It basically comes down to the "double substitution" rule. It states that 2 cards with an "instead" of effect cant be chained and used at the same time. Rumble effects goes off first, so Galaxy/Release cant. That's the super short version. Yami Michael 14:52, January 1, 2012 (UTC)

But aren't they substituting for different things? Rumble's effect substitutes battling, while Galaxy/Release substitutes leaving the battle zone.

IIIIIzz 16:57, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • I don't believe it matters. As long as 2 effects both have the word "instead", they cant be chained together. Ill find it later. Yami Michael 16:59, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

I think it'd help if we had a page for the more advanced rulings. Things such as simultaneous effects, and all that. It's generally unknown to the DM masses how [un]complex the rulings really are. ☆ Brandnewkid 21:47, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • It would, yeah. Problem is however except for the ones from the old English and set faq's, I don't know them. Any other card ruling are usually from the setfiles, and even plenty of those haven't been added to the wiki (Or at least, I didn't add them).

It would be great to have an "Advanced Rulings" page, especially with something like shown as well. Oddly, the latest ruling was related to the "instead of" and "substitution" effects. Yami Michael 13:09, January 5, 2012 (UTC)

Oh man, what if Kaijudo introduces a simple Stack sort of thing! Or a second main phase! (Magic without mana screw is the best game I could imagine existing.) Je2010 15:01, February 16, 2012 (UTC)

Lapsed Player's Perspective Suggesting Amendments

Dear Yami Michael,

Hello, I recently moved to Japan and since nobody is familiar with Magic in my corner of the country, let alone plays it, I've taken up Duel Masters again after having quit after about the third set released in my native US. So from a relatively fresh-eyed player's perspective, I was wondering if there might be some missing information worth adding to certain sections if they seem of general interest (I totally understand if these are way too individual sorts of concerns on my part).

First for Rainbow cards, do they produce mana that is of its constituent colors, or is it just one of those colors at a time? And, perhaps not general enough to include in the general Rainbow information page, if a card like Bronze-Arm Tribe puts a rainbow card into the mana zone, does it still enter tapped?

The other thing I would absolutely love is a brief explanation of what each line's purpose is. I love the quick blurbs about what each set added mechanically to the game and what races debuted and everything, but it's a bit bewildering stopping by stores' card sections and seeing different "timelines" of cards with different numerologies--as far as I can gather the main DM line has ceased and the new main release line is now called DMR, but then there's also more in the DMX line coming out, too, with apparently some original cards included in them, which I gather will continue being released while the main DMR line carries on where DM left off? I know there are like metal versions of cards, and sometimes altered colorations of reprinted art, and it'd be great to know what it all means.

Similarly, it'd be great if there were a section on card frames. As far as I can figure, DMR redesigned the card frames with bigger type boxes, bigger and different font therein, and spell cards now bleed into the black border in line with creature cards, and mana costs now have a circle behind them indicating which colors are required to cast it and the mana value number has ditched its old circle for civilization logos. The card frames themselves have also been redesigned, too. but art boxes have increased. So I was wondering if there could be a discussion of the redesign, and perhaps why it was done. They look neat and more streamlined--I'm thinking back to when Magic reigned in their overly-flavorful frames in 8th Edition so that the card face designs would become considerably cleaner and less detrimentally frilly--though DM naturally has more of a bombastic nature, so it does get away with a bit more of an eccentric, even if relatively scaled back, cardframe. This might not be of interest to people, but as a newcomer to DM, it was strange to be playing with the apparently "White-bordered Magic Core Set introductory frames" in my Water/Darkness Dash Deck, but then to open a booster of DMR-03 and see all these strangely different designs that for all I knew meant something relevant.

Perhaps more relevant to general interest--design notes on say the Phoenix cards or Psychic cards might be worth mentioning: it seems Phoenix cards have an altered bird-like frame and Psychic or Psychic-enabling cards have electric shocks, flippable Psychics having no left or right section of card frame. These little diversions from the standard frame add up to a quiet, perhaps even subconscious degree of confusion to me, and it would have been neat to know off the bat why a given card feels strangely aesthetically different that what my eyes have trained me to consider a Duel Masters card. Other card frame deviations worth at least noting the frame representation, like how each set's booster pack design gets a nominal mention in the set's spoiler page: Fortress and Cross Gear. Perhaps this could go in a section on the various card frames if not being just a sentence in each of the given card type's description page?

Anyway, aesthetics aside, in the OCG breakdown section <> it would be great to get a quick sentence about what each set's role in the game's lifetime "continuity" is. From what I can gather, DM works like Magic, where sets are grouped in bigger chunks (Magic has "blocks" of usually three sets). DM seems to have sagas? But what's the breakdown of DMCs? Are they just released periodically collecting old cards or something? For instance, DMC-67's page <> just describes the pack cover and that it was released with DMC-68, but what were they trying to accomplish in this release and with the DMC line itself? What is the DMX line for? How are all these related to this Episode One super-event-sort-of-cross-over event? I come from a Magic-playing background, so in Magic terms, is DM/DMR the main, "expert" expansion line and then the DMC/X/D lines the Core Set/Intro Deck/DuelDecks/etc. sort of peripheral, Wizards money-grab collection (I love Wizards, but it seems like they keep coming out with new non-"Canon" special collection Magic sets, you know?)?

And then finally, it would be neat if there were explanations of what the promos were given for. Similarly, what is the story behind Mode Change cards? I got a couple in some recent packs I bought, but as far as I can tell, it's just extended art with a foil treatment, but nothing functionally different about the cards.

So those are the sorts of questions I have from the perspective of a basically uninitiated player jumping back into Duel Masters after a long absence but with a Magic gaming heritage. I hope the concerns can be addressed on the site some day!

Thanks so much for all your incredible vigilance on this site, it's helping me learn to read Japanese and subsequently helping me speak a bit more. My Japanese textbook just has dialogues and vocabulary lists related to school settings and stuff, but I'd much rather be able to talk about Magic and Duel Masters than to know how to count markers and desks.

Je2010 18:54, January 13, 2012 (UTC)

  • Was sure not expecting to read something this detailed today, and I'll only start with responding to bits of it for now. Lets see...

Regarding rainbow, I do admit, the rulings were in a bad place. While I had them hidden away in here, they were never really mentioned on How to Play or on the rainbow page. Sorry. They can tap for just 1 type of mana (e.g., Gonta can give 1 fire or 1 nature). Also, no matter how the rainbow card goes into your mana zone (e.g., Bronze-Arm/Natural Snare) it's tapped.

Something regarding how each DM/DMD/DMR/DMX can be possible, yes. Outside of a rulebook example (literally) I had never really added anything past booster pack and Theme Deck. Nothing regarding the ocg system.

DM was indeed the main line of booster packs, just like magic being the main core/block sets, and while it is partly a fan-term, they are "sagas". DMR-1, 2, 3 (and soon 4) continue on from where DM-39 ended. DM-36 to 39 had started adding the Psychic Creatures where DMR packs have kept added more of them and are considered the main booster pack set now.

DMC started off with Theme Decks which the lead to "power-up packs" (small packs based on improving the previous theme decks). This led to DMC-22 where they also added "Half Decks" (small decks containing 20 cards to help build decks together) but that only was for 22/23/24. This continues through most of the other DMC sets, except for the CoroCoro, Heroes Cross, and Dramatic Wars packs.

CoroCoro (which you may already know is a main toy/anime magazine) packs (1/13/27/42/55/61/64). Each pack varies, but are mainly considered to be reprint sets. Either of recent packs or all other dm/dmc packs (dmd/dmx/dmr did not exist at the end of dmc). They also tended to add random new exclusive cards (see DMC-34), or also reprinting promos (see DMC-55).

Heroes Cross Packs and Dramatic Wars packs were really a one-off deal (Well, 2 sets each, but released together).

DMC-47 and DMC-48 gave cards with artwork/phrases of the cards anime "owner", while DMC-67 and DMC-68 were just cards based on a theme of either Fire/Dragon or Angel/Demon Commands.

DMD and DMX are a little more interesting, but easy enough to explain after the DMC above. DMD at the moment are focusing on the deck side of things "Start Dash", "Strong Metal" and the upcoming "Rising Dash". These are the usual 40 card decks that were in DMC.

DMX packs are generally like the power-up or CocoCoro packs, or even the heroes/dramatic packs releasing cards based on a theme (so far, Alien/Hunters).

Card Frames has been something that was never really discussed here, while I did do various posts about it on the Duelzone forum when it was first getting previewed (in this case, DMX-01 started to tease it). The different card frames don't change anything game-play wise, it really is just to stretch art or to look better as a design. I have a rough idea on how I can show comparisons and such, just never really made a page on it.

And...that's enough for now. Enjoy Yami Michael 05:20, January 14, 2012 (UTC)

  • Now for take 2 of my response.

Yes, regarding the card frames again Phoenix/Psychic would get special mention, and the CC/HC/VC/Mode Change probably would as well. Obviously it would probably try and display pictures of each card types card frame to show to differences between them. In the talk pages for creature/spell/fortress, I did actually did a small note of the shape of each frame...long long ago.

OCG Sets: "Saga" is an unofficial term, but yes, on the JP wiki articles for each "Saga" have a page either documenting story and new cards. I probably wouldn't put it on the list of the sets though, as even a small blurb can get messy fast. Usually a lot of the reason I don't make English versions of these pages is simply because of how detailed or how long they take to translate. If you want to see the pages, I can get links.

Originally, the list of promotional cards did have their way of obtaining them listed. It just got super long, and the page is already one of the longest pages on the wiki. It might be something that could fit into trivia though, and the JP wiki lists their source.

Mode Change Card is a page I did make recently, but yes, it is just extra/edited artwork. If you want to read for me to add to it a bit, it can help. Same with VC and the others. Sorry for the slow response on the second part, but welcome back to DM.

To know that I'm helping others to learn a language as well makes me happy, so yay. :) If you can play a game like this and learn more of a language, that's just awesome.

If I missed anything, tell me. Yami Michael 14:43, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

If you'd like me to translate the story and details behind the sagas, send me those links on the JP wiki and I'll do the best that I can.☆ Brandnewkid 20:24, January 22, 2012 (UTC) would be the back-story pages, they have it done by each saga.

Request for help

Hi Yami. I approved your request for a main page revamp, and I'm here to follow up with you. If you've seen a layout that you like at another wiki, please link me to it, and I'll start working on setting up a similar layout here. Of course, if you already have a specific idea of how you want it to look, let me know. JoePlay WikiaStaff.png (talk) 18:00, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

I'm never really decent on the creative side of things, but the mainpage is somewhat neglected here, so lets take a shot. While I don't want it completely like ... I would like some general "news boxes", only of course, more of the blue/white style, one to show off the latest sets that I have listed already...and another side box or two for important links (like the anime series's I have listed in the menu bar up the top.

While it does seem a little weird to separate the wikis, I wouldn't mind a better notification or message to refer people to Kaijudo wiki as well, as while similar, the game/show is very different, and doesn't work category wise.

I don't really know what do to in terms of images to have a character section like the yu-gi-oh, while some characters have them...others are lacking. Might be best to just ignore that.

Take a look at User:JoePlay/dev, where I have two versions of a section heading using a Google web font that's kinda similar to the font on the official logo. If you like the font, let me know which heading you like (dark blue text or white text on dark blue background), and I'll use it on the main page. JoePlay WikiaStaff.png (talk) 00:16, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
Man, now that's a tricky choice. I'm leaning towards the first one, and can always change it later on if I change my mind. Yami Michael 00:27, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
I just edited the main page, so take a look when you get a chance. I noticed that you guys use the wiki's blogs, so I added a blog listing to help fill out the right column. When editing in source mode, you can adjust the number of blog posts that appear (count="3") and the length of the blog posts' text (summarylength="150"). Let me know if you want to me make any more changes. JoePlay WikiaStaff.png (talk) 17:20, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
That looks absolutely amazing. It looks like everything is there in plain view, and it seems easy enough to edit for later changes. Cant thank you enough, and cant think of anything else that's needed. I imagine if needed or if it could fit, a listing of manga in a column is easy enough? It would be added the current columns or even fitted by changing col2 to col3? Yami Michael 19:08, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
Cool, I'm glad you like the new look. :) And yeah, you can just add another column using col-3. "Template:Col-3" didn't exist, so I just created it. JoePlay WikiaStaff.png (talk) 22:17, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
Perfect. After staring at the main page a lot, it does seem to not be missing anything, so thanks again for the help. Glad I finally got around to contacting you guys. Yami Michael 22:27, May 11, 2012 (UTC)

Template / Category Cleanup

As you have no doubt noticed by now, I figured out what was wrong in the Card Table Template so now it works like the one used by the Kaijudo Wiki.

Therefore, I think it would be a good idea to clean up card pages by removing duplicate Categories and edit effect Templates so that when an effect template is included in a card table, the Category for the effect is auto included as well. Chimera-gui (talk) 23:42, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

I saw the document thing, was there something else I missed? I know there's already a lot of category/automatic things I need to deal with. Yami Michael 00:22, September 14, 2012 (UTC)
We will also need to find a way to use the Category auto-inclusion effects of the Shield Trigger Spell and Blocker templates without the actual templates themselves. Chimera-gui (talk) 03:49, September 14, 2012 (UTC)

Civ Symbols

Hi. Tks for the update on this wiki. You are doing a great job. I was wandering if you have the symbols for the civilizations? If you have them can you post them or upload on this wiki? Need those to edit some card in English so that i can make some sets on OCTGN. tks

Found them :D so happy [1].
Nice. Yami Michael 22:57, October 20, 2012 (UTC)

Mechanics Pages

So some guy just popped up and made the pages "Blockers" and "Double Breakers". It's obvious that both pages are crappy, but are you going to expand them and make pages for each card mechanic, or stick with the Card Mechanics page? BlitzerRyuusei (talk) 22:40, November 3, 2012 (UTC)

I did make Template:Keywords, and there will be a time where I want to change redirects and have separate pages, but not yet (Would have to figure out a few things, Breakers would be weird). Bad pages like those are just deleted for now. Yami Michael 23:10, November 3, 2012 (UTC)

The question is, what about 3/4/5 color cards? Yami Michael 04:39, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

Try asking about it here Chimera-gui (talk) 04:54, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
Asked on the community forms, and using those colors now. Yami Michael 05:13, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
I added coding that should work, all you'd have to do is adjust the percentages with this Chimera-gui (talk) 06:06, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
That's funny, as that's one of the sites I was using to try mixing colors, although going with another. Hmm. Lets see... 06:13, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
I've added combinations that aren't in use but could be used, might want to include those as well. Chimera-gui (talk) 06:29, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
I started testing with all 5 colors, and while it seemed to work and blend on the site, it did not function on the wiki. (It stuck with the first 2 colors, yellow and blue). 3 color cards are currently using 3 colors, but the third is a solid "block". Although, I think I might know why. 06:32, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
Fixed some mistakes, try applying it now. Chimera-gui (talk) 15:47, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
Also, mind unlocking Cardtable and Infobox Character so I can make some corrections? Chimera-gui (talk) 00:37, April 4, 2013 (UTC)
I lowered the lock on them for a few hours. I also copied the latest version of my sandbox into the wikia.css. Yami Michael 01:51, April 4, 2013 (UTC)
Thank you but any particular reason for removing the single colors from css? Chimera-gui (talk) 01:57, April 4, 2013 (UTC)
It must of copied wrong. Wasn't intentional, back to normal now. Yami Michael 02:01, April 4, 2013 (UTC)
That's good, thank you. Chimera-gui (talk) 02:11, April 4, 2013 (UTC)

Civilization symbols on decks

Keeping in mind that we have made tons of deck pages here on the wiki, I thought that it would be a nice touch if we also added the civilization symbols of those decks somewhere (I am thinking either in brackets near the deck's name at the beginning of the article, or put the symbols in a special case like you did with the anime and manga characters) It's just a thought.  User:Kokujo Kyoshiro 10:26, April 19, 2013

I probably will. There's a few infobox things that still need to be done. Yami Michael 00:21, April 20, 2013 (UTC)

All civilizations

I think the phrase "All civilizations" should only be use for races found in Light, Water, Darkness, Fire, Nature and Zero and races that aren't found in Zero should be
|Civilization = Light
|Civilization2 = Water
|Civilization3 = Darkness
|Civilization4 = Fire
|Civilization5 = Nature
Chimera-gui (talk) 18:33, September 6, 2013 (UTC)
I guess. Until recently, due to certain info, I wasn't even considering Zero to even be a civilization, but then some parts of their site started claiming it as one more, so I made the switch.
While I don't like the look of the infobox with more then 2 colors, its accurate, I guess. Yami Michael 16:52, September 10, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, the addition of a sixth color does make things awkward. Chimera-gui (talk) 20:19, September 10, 2013 (UTC)

Css Suggestion

I've been toying around with Colors using the Communitytest Wikia.css, have a look for yourself. Chimera-gui (talk) 22:09, October 5, 2013 (UTC)

And why are we changing the colors yet again? I thought we were settled now. Yami Michael 12:14, October 6, 2013 (UTC)
Not so much changing color as trying to get the color balance right. Chimera-gui (talk) 02:30, October 7, 2013 (UTC)

Image Suggestion

Do you want to replace the {{{Civilization}}}.jpg images with {{{Civilization}}}.png like on the Kaijudo wiki?

Yeah. The civilization images do need to be higher quality, and being vectors wouldn't hurt. Yami Michael 02:41, September 27, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks mate. I've been watching the dubbed episodes, so I can probably help out with a few summaries. Sanokal K-T (talk) 17:48, November 3, 2013 (UTC)

No problem. You'll notice that while I might have set up a lot of the layout/organisation for the show...a lot of the pages are messy and not up to the standards the rest of the wiki is in, the summaries were not written by me. Yami Michael 02:27, November 4, 2013 (UTC)

Double Sub

  • Just figured you created a page named "Instead". So what are you going to do about that "Double Substitution"?
I'll probably make it eventually to explain the rule if its needed. Or even just on the page itself. Yami Michael 14:15, November 30, 2013 (UTC)

Visual Editor

I'm guessing you turned the new editor off? Any reason for it? Chimera-gui (talk) 21:56, March 13, 2014 (UTC)

Because I was seeing weird bugs with it, and it was appearing when I tried to start new pages, when it does not usually do that. I'll turn it back on and see whats happening. Yami Michael 00:25, March 14, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah. When making the new pages yesterday, before choosing to click edit, the visual editor was already appearing, which I found annoying, the only way out was to cancel out each time. It had the source mode option, but it was different than usual. It slowed me down yesterday needing to make a lot of pages when I just wanted to use source mode and edit normally in multiple tabs. Yami Michael 00:31, March 14, 2014 (UTC)
The settings might have just kicked in. Nvm.Yami Michael 00:37, March 14, 2014 (UTC)
And...hours later, its being weird again and showing me visual editor when it shouldnt be. So annoyed at editing right now. Yami Michael 07:23, March 14, 2014 (UTC)

Civilization Symbols

When do you think you can upload .pngs of the Civilization Symbols like you did with Zero? Chimera-gui (talk) 19:54, March 15, 2014 (UTC)

I have .jpg images that can be saved to .png...but I don't have nice quality images of them. The zero one was an image I had to crop out of something else, and then try to clean it up. It looks decent because it's small, but its not a true png.

Civilizations 2

This was the file I had. And the Light one was way too faded. Yami Michael 03:27, March 16, 2014 (UTC)
I'm not worried about quality right now, I just want to replace the jpg symbols with something that can have transparent backgrounds.

I've uploaded them as individual files so that you can replace that jpgs. Chimera-gui (talk) 03:56, March 16, 2014 (UTC)
I replaced the L,W,D,F,N templates. But they look Yami Michael 06:40, March 16, 2014 (UTC)
I've uploaded higher quality versions of them so they should look better now.

Should've known that copy/pasting your image instead of actually downloading it would negatively affect the quality, sorry about that.

Feel free to delete the jpgs since I've moved the categories from the jpgs to the pngs. Chimera-gui (talk) 15:56, March 16, 2014 (UTC)
Ok. Can you do anything about Light though, it looks quite faded and harder to see at lower sizes (Not your fault, it's just a very faint yellow).Yami Michael 04:26, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
Is that good? I've adjusted the yellow so it's more visible. Chimera-gui (talk) 05:09, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
Looks a lot nicer, thanks for the .png's. Yami Michael 07:42, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
You're very welcome, glad I could help. Chimera-gui (talk) 15:58, March 18, 2014 (UTC)

Trimming Excess

With Tooltips, I've noticed that some card have unsightly white space outside the card's border. I'd like the to have that trimmed off if possible. Chimera-gui (talk) 17:47, March 21, 2014 (UTC)

Anything in particular? I imagine that it would be based on the image itself, cant really change anything to the template. Yami Michael 01:54, March 22, 2014 (UTC)

civilization symbol

We have compiled has not been clearly described and briefly what has been the motif is a symbol of civilization each page of the current stage. dummyflame13

  • I don't understand this. Yami Michael 09:47, September 5, 2014 (UTC)

How do i upload a set advertisment into something like "DMR-14 Set advertisment"?

I can't rename it; when i try to rename the video it calls me to upload a new version instead. How do you exactly upload a video in the way that it would be called "DMR-XX set advertisement" or something like that? also try to rename or delete this if possible.--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 10:17, September 24, 2014 (UTC)

It's ok. Videos are always fussy. I usually upload and just rename them anyway.Yami Michael 02:55, September 25, 2014 (UTC)

hi...i'm a fan of duel masters..soo happy that it is still popular :D

Hey. Strong as ever in Japan. :) Yami Michael 02:31, September 27, 2014 (UTC)
hi..ok and i got blocked for one day..don't know why..

Hey, I wanted to ask you if I could help you and Rex700. For example, I found several new artworks which are not yet posted on this wiki.

But I don't want to upload anything without your ok, since you're the one maintaining this site.

If there's anything I can do to support you and the DM Wiki, let me know.

Well, its possible they are on the wiki, as I do have a page with a lot of mis-named artwork on this and also this. But, its possible you have some not added to. Renaming is always possible to do, but slow and annoying. I've put off fixing that artwork page for months due to other stuff.

As long as they follow the naming policy on them, I don't mind. So something like (Bolshack Dragon artwork.jpg) not (DM324234-345345.jpg).

Thanks for any help, more artwork is nice to have. I've tried to at least link each artists website on their page so people can find them online, at least. Yami Michael 08:08, September 27, 2014 (UTC)

Hey Mike, do you know where I can find out what the OCG metagame is right now?

It has the links for the last few championship events on that tag. (Ignore the Vanguard one, look at the ones with DM cards)

I think the list at Metagame is mostly accurate. Draghearts haven't changed much, but I think people are starting to use Domitius, Evil Emperor of Five Dragonskind. Yami Michael 08:57, October 2, 2014 (UTC)

Daiginga, Dragonsolution Star Castle

Hey, do you know if Daiginga, Dragonsolution Star Castle will only be available as a Jumbo Promo?

Only version we know about currently. Some promos tend to repeat though.Yami Michael 00:02, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

Glenmalt "King" One Shot

  • I am itching to make a deck type page on Glenmalt "King" One Shot! What do you suggest? If affirmative, suggest a name too. Madromanoff (talk) 17:21, January 16, 2015 (UTC)
    • Hadn't really seen that as a deck type yet. That name actually sounds fine for it. Yami Michael 18:30, January 16, 2015 (UTC)
    • Indeed. there is no such deck type. But I can make it, and it deserves to be there. Mainly because I have seen a lot of people on tobacco use Glenmalt "King" in a weird way. Like they don't even know it. And to make it a beauty, since DMR was just release it will be a deck up to date with meta. Madromanoff (talk) 02:07, January 17, 2015 (UTC)

Metagame to be edited

Hey there, I was thinking of editing the Metagame page since the scenario of hard decks has changed a lot since last banlist, especially the Miramisu. But nope, can't edit. You might do that for me, won't you, please?

Pre-Mana Arms

Hey Michael, thinking about having a new category for creatures that had Mana Arms before DMR-13. Like "Pre-Mana Arms" or something. Just a thought ~MarauderDeisDrive~

See Shadow, Phantom Blood/Trivia. I could have sworn I saw another page before I joined that had that in its trivia.

Kubrick, Spiral Accelerator did. While I'm always looking at other possible and useful categories...right now this seems like more of a small trivia thing. As I dont think there's many other cards that are like that. (Only closest I can think of is the guys on Monocolored, but their effect is a bit different, and they have that page+cycles already.) Yami Michael 10:06, February 8, 2015 (UTC)
Instead....the two cards could also be listed on the bottom of the Mana Arms page as details or trivia. I think that can be fitting, I'll go throw it on there. Tell me if you find other cards though. Yami Michael

Hey Michael, just wondering, is attacking a form of choosing since certain cards say,"this creature cannot be chosen but it can still be attacked" thanks!

When your opponent would choose a creature, he cant choose one such as Petrova, Channeler of Suns. As the rest of the text says, it is is still able to be attacked or blocked by your opponent.

So no, attacking is not a form of "choosing". Yami Michael 09:52, February 8, 2015 (UTC)

The chat should have a ping function.

Today several people had entered the chat and at the moment i opened the chat window all of those people left. I guess a ping function should be added there. --AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 15:30, February 8, 2015 (UTC)

Chat is one of those wiki-wide features (that all wikis can turn on or off), but there isn't any other customization for it. (Except for the chatmod rank). Yami Michael 15:44, February 8, 2015 (UTC)
I see.--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 15:46, February 8, 2015 (UTC)

Untap Category

I would unsurmountably like an "Untaps at end" category. What do you think? Madromanoff (talk) 15:43, February 17, 2015 (UTC)

Considering Creature Tapper exists, the opposite of it; Creature Untapper and Self Untapper could probably work too. (The difference of Toel, Vizier of Hope to Mobile Saint Meermax) Yami Michael 15:52, February 17, 2015 (UTC)

Would be better do be make it sooner, if possible. I have to perfect a deck a little and I have no ways to search all of them to choose from. Madromanoff (talk) 16:03, February 17, 2015 (UTC)

Hey just wondering if there are official rules for tag? Thx.

You mean Tag Team? There is Multiplayer. Yami Michael 14:51, March 7, 2015 (UTC)

Forever Princess

Hey Yami, just something I've been itching about Forever Princes's name. Pretty sure I changed her name back then, but for some reason it changed back. Weird.

Anyways, about the "Eternity to rule them" part. I'm pretty sure it's "Eternal Ruler" or "Ruler of Eternity". If it was "An eternity to rule", it should've have been 悠久に統べる instead of 悠久を統べる. At least, that's what I think. And I'm pretty sure that 統べる者 adds up to "Ruler" here, referring to Prin.

Any thoughts on this? スリー (talk) 19:10, March 12, 2015 (UTC) Percival

Probably because of all the other redirects that were going on at the time. Nothing fixes the old pages that still have the old card name when its renamed, so it leaves a lot of bad links behind.

Eternal Ruler of Ruler of Eternity is probably fine. I'll likely change it during the week or so. Nearly 100 pages link to her. Yami Michael 09:56, March 13, 2015 (UTC)

Duel Masters: Cobalt

I was hoping that you could edit the Template:Infobox Character and allow the adding of "signature creature" and "rival", please. I'm not very good with coding. --RiderJones (talk) 22:03, March 24, 2015 (UTC)

There is now a |Signature= and a |Rival= Yami Michael 06:14, March 25, 2015 (UTC)

Kaijudo Version

Mind adding |link= to the image link in Template:Kaijudo Version like I did in the Duel Masters Version? Could you also change [[w:c:kaijudo:Kaijudo Wiki|<span title="Kaijudo Wiki">Kaijudo Wiki</span>]] to {{KAIwiki|Kaijudo Wiki}}? Chimera-gui (talk) 15:35, March 25, 2015 (UTC)

Done. It also seemed appropriate for them to be in the "Interwiki templates".
Thank you and Template:IMDB was created as IMDB is on the Interwiki map but the link was more complex than Template:ns could handle.
Good to know. Yami Michael 01:15, March 26, 2015 (UTC)

Is there a way to improve this?

This template would go on and on because i guess for the rest of the years that the game is active there will be victory rares and every single one of them will be here. should this be deleted or can be improved in some way? And it also tends to stick Laurier, Ogre Princess or other cards that support victory rares onto the victory category. Suggestions?--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 11:21, April 1, 2015 (UTC)

Didn't really expect Victory Rares to last so long. Specially since we aren't even in the Victory anime series anymore. Its already separated a bit, so my only real issue with it is the creature part. But it will get a bit crazy if I have to sort it into blocks...Hmm. i'mma gonna leave it for the moment, see what DMR-17 brings. Yami Michael 12:07, April 1, 2015 (UTC)

Glenmalt "head" rulings

Hey just wondering, should Glenmalt "head" attack and summon batorai kaku, would its effect activate considering that both are effects that activate upon attack. Thanks. On a side note i think some changes need to be made based on the removal of dragheart fortresses if i remember correctly. ~KaiMK2

Versus Revolution

Hi you know I am the one that made the page for the Versus Revolution series of the anime. Thanks for helping a bit but can ou help in adding the new characters English and Kanji names, plus their voice actors? I have a bit of trouble in it.Vanessachow.jiaying (talk) 14:11, April 8, 2015 (UTC)

I pretty much wait for the Japanese DM wiki or the Japanese wikipedia to include the kanji first.

Ok so I will wait for a while. I also checked the Japan wiki and realized that what I wrote is almost the same as the Japan wiki by only watching the series. Vanessachow.jiaying (talk) 15:26, April 8, 2015 (UTC)

The Japan wiki have the Kanji names of the Basara's teammates but I cant translate well. I also know the voice actors. Mind if you can help with this and place it on the Vsr episode listing page?Vanessachow.jiaying (talk) 06:02, May 3, 2015 (UTC)

I guess he's trying to spam for wikia achievements?--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 11:17, April 12, 2015 (UTC)

That is what I assumed. Some edits I was fine with (if a page wasn't already linking spell/creatures...), but then there's the bad categories. Bet if I ban for a few days it will mess up the "edit every day" achievement. Yami Michael 11:19, April 12, 2015 (UTC)

"Looked around the jpwiki a bit. Found a few more cards for the prevent triggers thing. Inka indirectly stops them too. Unsure if I want to include it or not. I'll let you decide"

Indirect stops such as Inka, Karma's Curse Crest and Gallows Devil Dragon, Dead Sea Dragon stop strike back or ninja strike as well so they are not exactly "Prevents Shield Trigger". I may decide to add them in the future.--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 13:36, April 12, 2015 (UTC)

Gallows gets "Prevents Casting/Summoning" already so thats fine. And since Inka gets Prevents Summoning too, its fine that they dont get it. They dont explicitly say "stops shield trigger", so that was my reasoning too not to include her in it. Just wanted your opinion too as you made the category. :) Yami Michael 17:06, April 12, 2015 (UTC)

Explanations about Hall of Fame restrictions

Should i continue with this? or should i try somewhere else like the trivia of the card?--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 13:38, April 30, 2015 (UTC)

I wouldn't mind it as much on trivia pages (and I think a small few of them do talk about their ban a little.) We might be able to move it onto a reasons page too soon, I have an idea for it (using the card example template) that could be interesting. I might mess around on the User:BlitzerRyuusei/List of Reasons for why cards are Currently Banned page to show what I'm thinking. Yami Michael 13:42, April 30, 2015 (UTC)

Slayer and Speed Attacker

Why did you undo my edit on those pages? They were factual information. --RiderJones (talk) 04:55, May 3, 2015 (UTC)

Shield trigger and blocker templates collapsing?

The shield trigger and blocker templates are collapsing against each other and now not even lining the templates above and below each other Works. Is there anything that can be done? --AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 14:32, June 23, 2015 (UTC)

It seemingly started after I changed the Shield Trigger template a month or so ago, to fit the Shield Trigger Cross template into it. I tried a few things the other day to fix it, but I ran into the issue of either breaking cards that only had Shield Trigger, or had Shield Trigger + something else. Obviously, theres a lot of cards that use Shield Trigger, so I have to be careful. I might just have to make a template that combines them both. Which is a shame, as the point of the shield trigger change was to remove a template in the first place.Yami Michael 14:37, June 23, 2015 (UTC)
I actually had an idea. I can still just use the "Shield trigger" template, but add a 4th mode to it. If we use {{Shield Trigger|Type=blocker}} it gives us the text of both Shield Trigger and blocker, as well as both categories. Yami Michael 14:44, June 23, 2015 (UTC)
I see. this may be good too but it's quite difficult to choose. But since blocker is not a type unlike creature or spell so i guess ST blocker will by slightly better. It's actually pretty hard to choose as both are pretty convincing.--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 14:46, June 23, 2015 (UTC)
This method means it wont need a separate template. ST Blocker doesn't exist anymore. And since the Shield Trigger template already did, that seems the best to use. Yami Michael 14:52, June 23, 2015 (UTC)
Fine.--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 14:55, June 23, 2015 (UTC)

I added the background and gradients to Kaijudo's Monobook. Just remove the "no-" just before repeat and it can repeat DM's wiki. Chimera-gui (talk) 02:18, August 14, 2015 (UTC)

Might want to change the gradient colors to what the DM wiki uses: Wikia.css Chimera-gui (talk) 15:22, August 15, 2015 (UTC)

Card example template broken.

The card example template is broken like shown on the right. Can you please check the problem?--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 14:27, August 28, 2015 (UTC)

Actually, I was thinking of making it closer to the cardtable a few days ago when I changed it, but need less info (like sets/flavor). does feel a bit gappy when the card doesn't have much effect text. I can revert it.

Graveyard Kourin

Delete these images?

[2] [3]

I was trying to add the images for the grand prix promo cards (Sorry for the poor pictures, ka-nabell or does not have their images) but i then realized the grand prix promos and the CS promos are NOT the same cards with a different version, they are completely different cards. (Baki is 49/Y14 in GP and 52/Y14 in CS, Imen=bugo is 50/Y14 in GP and 53/Y14 in CS and euru=nambucca is 51/Y14 in GP and 54/Y14 in CS.) And i cannot rename the images, so i will have to reupload the files. Can you delete the above 2 files please? (The Imen Bugo just switched images, so it did not need deleting.)--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 10:28, September 11, 2015 (UTC)

Isn't 時よ止まれ time stopping, and not seize the moment? Also that thing is from jojo's bizarre adventure where dio brando would say "The World! Time has stopped!" (ザ・ワールド!時よ止まれ!) so time stop or time stopping would make more sense.--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 06:55, September 19, 2015 (UTC)

Michael Lam told me that it was "Seize the Moment, MiraDante!!" on the packet over on facebook. Haven't been changing cards or the set page yet, as I was unsure about using the comma. And the capital D was weird as well, but I was likely going to ignore that. The card did have "Timestop" on one of its printings as well.Yami Michael 07:08, September 19, 2015 (UTC)

Hi there, can I talk to you by live chat now? Vanessachow.jiaying (talk) 14:22, November 17, 2015 (UTC)

I'm soooo lost at the wiki omg. Is this where i can write you chat message or so?!

Duel Masters Global Forum (talk) 01:35, December 14, 2015 (UTC)

Yes. It would be the easiest way, as it notifies me when this page is edited.~ Yami Michael 03:48, December 14, 2015 (UTC)

i don't know why my DMR-19 Adamski photo was deleted. If it's violating some quality rules, i totally understand. Anyway, please do not delete my new and much better photo upload of the card. Bye

The correct way to upload pictures for regular sets is [set name]-[number]. For example, if you want to upload adamski, it should be dmr19-s3.jpg. If it is a promo card, it's [dm-number]-[year], such as "dm-p19-y14". Also, your image is not deleted, but your image is improperly named so it will be deleted later on. If you want to upload images, use pictures from this site (Although they do not have cards from this set until it's actual release).--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 06:09, December 14, 2015 (UTC)
Actually, I did delete the adamski one. I usually try not to use the bad magazine photos. I try not to have card images unless they are the usual rectangle and usual card size. Diagonal pictures just make bad crops and look bad on the card pages.~ Yami Michael 06:17, December 14, 2015 (UTC)

Ruling for Ira, Explosive Agitator

Hi, Can you please create a ruling page for Ira, Explosive Agitator?

The question is regarding a possible mistranslation of her ability. It currently reads, "Whenever your creatures attack, if it attacks for the first time this turn, you may discard a card from your hand. If you do, draw 2 cards."

By the current wording, each time each of your creatures conducts its first attack of the turn, you may use her ability (i.e. if you have 3 creatures that can attack, including her, you can use her ability 3 times separately, discarding a card and drawing 2 cards each time). If it is meant to be only the first attack per turn, the ruling should be addressed and her ability wording changed to, "Whenever your creatures attack, if it is the first attack this turn, you may discard a card from your hand. If you do, draw 2 cards."

Thanks in advance! ExodusTCG (talk) 21:16, January 26, 2016 (UTC)

But..that picture does not even show the whole card... i understand that the newest version should be used but in this case it's super weird.--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 09:11, February 17, 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, I was just looking over those cards. Its so weird to have been made non-metal. ~ Yami Michael 09:13, February 17, 2016 (UTC)

Sorry about that

Thank you for the information you have shared with me. My real name is Nhat, I'm 's Vietnamese and I loved the card game Duel Masters. As you can see, I do not know much English. Sorry for posting unofficial images on this Wikia. And you just delete them. Answering your question, I have a template with a larger size of about 375x524. If you want to create cards only in the OCG, please tell me. I can help you change japanese cards became english cards. ~ User:Xenoga 09:11 AM, February 29, 2016.

Its okay, no worries. I just didn't want to delete them without telling you. ~ Yami Michael 08:19, February 29, 2016 (UTC)

The forbidden text now no longer displays card links correctly as it just decapitalizes some words making the card link inaccessible.--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 14:54, March 4, 2016 (UTC)

Lots of time spent. No real progress, as it tries to display the text/name/page in too many ways at the same time. Even a switch template didn't.~ Yami Michael 17:51, March 4, 2016 (UTC)

Can we add creative signs?

This is based on another wiki I'm using

Above there are signs which look funny and creative.

There's "They can be tough nuts to crack" or "I need my TIME MACHINE!"

Why not we make stuff like that?

Hi! Thanks for welcoming me!

I am pretty new to wikia, so I might make a few mistakes in the beginning. I also have a few questions.

Renaming pictures pictures is restricted to admins, right? You have already fixed the ones I uploaded (thank you), but I was wondering about this in case of future uploads. If I make a mistake, should I create a talk page asking an admin to fix it, or is there some other policy as to what to do?

Also, I could not find out how to resize the pictures I uploaded to the English promo gallery, so that they would be in alignment with the other pictures. Is that also restricted, or is there a way to do that which eludes me? Haiken (talk) 07:26, April 9, 2016 (UTC)

Well, restricted to admins or users with certain permission (aka Rex and Kokujo). I watch the recently changed pages and updated images, so its unlikely to be missed. No real need for a talk page.

In regards to image size, make sure you are using the source editor (which is just text) compared to the visual editor (which looks more newbie friendly, but can actually be messy code-wise for images. ~ Yami Michael 10:52, April 9, 2016 (UTC)

Ah, thank you, I did not know about the source editor. I've only been using the visual editor so far. Haiken (talk) 11:43, April 9, 2016 (UTC)
Guess the wikia office did a good job hiding it. You can switch your default editor in your preferences, in the "editing" section.--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (talk) 12:05, April 9, 2016 (UTC)

Hi Again

Hello again, I have another question. When it comes to promos, should their rarity be what it says on the card itself, or should it be "promotional", like on the Trenchdive Shark card page? Haiken (talk) 15:30, May 10, 2016 (UTC)

Originally the set and rarity was both promotional. But I've been changing cards the last few months to match the cards rarity (which is usually the same as its other printings).

I haven't had the chance to go over all cards in the promo lists yet, but saad has been fixing some up as he went through the trivia updates for them.~ Yami Michael 15:33, May 10, 2016 (UTC)

OK, then I'll take a look at the TCG promos and change those that say "promotional". Haiken (talk) 15:39, May 10, 2016 (UTC)

The Final 13 Episodes Of Duel Masters English Dub (Listed As Duel Masters 2.0), Are They The 1st 26 Episodes Of Duel Masters Charge Condensed Into 13 Episodes. Because On The Duel Masters Charge Anime Episode List Page, It Says Only The 1st 26 Episodes Were Adapted.

Please Confirm?

I was told that Charge only had 13 episodes into english. I never watched that series though, so I can't say for sure whether episodes were combined together or not. You would have to compare the plots of the "# 53-65 episodes" that are online, to the episodes on the charge page.~ Yami Michael 06:07, April 15, 2016 (UTC)

Thank You For Replying To My Message. I tried To Compare Episodes Between The English of Charge & The Original Japanese Version And Only A few Episodes Seemed To Match With Each Other.

  • Ep-60 of English Dub: Surprise! Matches Ep-16 of Charge: A Two-Sided Duel.
  • Ep-61 of English Dub: Cheatery Matches Ep-17 of Charge: Perfect Duel.
  • Ep-62 of English Dub: Makeover Matches Ep-19 of Charge: The Mysterious Yu Fua.

Using Invasion with Revolution Change

Clearly, Invasion can be used multiple times if the base creature and the evolution creature(s) share the same race (i.e. Command) and meet all Invasion requirements of that civilization, but can Invasion be used with "Revolution Change"? For example, if you have a Fire Command Dragon as the base creature and it attacks, followed by Revolution Change into Beroringa, Third Seed, can you then Invade into a Fire Command like Mach 55, Supersonic? Assuming Revolution Change and Invasion was declared at the start of the attack. ExodusTCG (talk) 01:20, June 1, 2016 (UTC)

Invasion can be used with Rev Change as long as Invasion is resolved before Rev Change. However Invasion cannot be used on the creature put out with Rev Change since it is as an entirely new creature that did not fulfill the requirements for Invasion to resolve. スリー (talk) 07:06, June 1, 2016 (UTC)

Question about "This creature can't attack players."

Thank you for the kinds message. I just joined and discovered Duel Masters recently. It's a fun game. It's a shame they discontinued it and Kaijudo as well.

I do, however, have one question only. In Duel Masters there's this line of text, "This creature can't attack players."

Now, I realize that it stop creatures from attacking the opponent's shields, but does it also stop those creatures from attacking the opponent in the final blow, when they have no more shields left?

Thanks in advance and have a nice day!

Greg Burtman (talk) 01:46, June 17, 2016 (UTC)

Answer is simple: "NO".--"This is the end." "Ugh...Really?" 04:35, June 17, 2016 (UTC)
No? Like can attack or can't attack the finishing blow?
I think it can't do the final attack.Madromanoff (talk) 15:45, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
It can attack creatures (Untapped usually, Tapped if special ability allows it). It can't attack the player (which would be attacking a shield if they have them, or the final blow if they have none). ~ Yami Michael 09:48, July 30, 2016 (UTC)

Some thoughts

  • Right about time to change name of Destruction Substitution into Removal Substitution? Just to avoid confusion. And 'Increases Shield Broke'? Sounds weird, doesn't it? How about 'Broken' or 'Breaking' or even 'Break' for the last word instead? I'd say '..Break' would suit better. I am thinking whether D2 Fields can be termed card removals themselves, reason for which should be clear to you. But that's just a thought, not a necessity. Also can you tell me about the Info-boxes and what are they? It seems it is the only needed category on Insights page requiring work. Madromanoff (talk) 12:58, August 11, 2016 (UTC)
    • Probably right about the Broke/Broken thing. Might do a AWB sweep soon to change it. It has always sounded a little awkward. D2 fields don't really need a category for removal, as thats just how all of them work by removing the other D2 field in play.
    • Infoboxes are specific templates found on most pages (such as an Episode, Set, Character) that list specific info (such as the air date, release date, or family) for that page. The issue with it on the insights page is that it thinks ALL pages need an infobox, which is wrong for card game wikis as the cardtable is on pages instead for most pages on the wiki. ~ Yami Michael 14:12, August 11, 2016 (UTC)
  • Oh, I get it now. So it doesn't really need work. But how did the missing pages requirement secion suddenly disappear from Insights? I was going to follow it as a guide to what needs to be done. Well, it won't matter if you can tell me if there is anthing that requires semi-immediate work on the wiki. I could do some in a free time, except Decktypes, which I will leave for specific time on my schedule. Also, what's AWB? Madromanoff (talk) 14:29, August 11, 2016 (UTC)

Ruling for Invasion on Untap

Hi, can you address a ruling regarding using Invasion on a creature that untaps when it attacks for the first time each turn?

For example, if you use Invasion , placing Parasking, Revolution Invasionkind on top of Glenmalt "Soul", Explosive Win or Gaial Mobius, Victory Emperor, wouldn't the evolution creature be untapped since invasion happens in the middle of the attack and the untap happens immediately (not after the attack) as triggered by the base creature? Invasion mechanics parenthesis also states: ( may put this creature from your hand onto it.).

Note that there is no indication that the evolution creature must come into play in a tapped position (normally, it would because the base creature would usually already be in the tapped position on-attack). As an innovative competitive player, I would appreciate if you can find an official ruling and add this to the Invasion rulings section and/or those specific creature's rulings pages. Thank you in advance. ExodusTCG (talk) 22:09, September 6, 2016 (UTC)

[Rule 605.1 Regarding "Resolving effects"

Pending effects are resolved in any order the player activating them wishes, starting from the turn player. The order of the effects activated are not of concern. ]

That means that for example, Gaial Mobius attacks, and Parasking's Invasion+Gaial Mobius' untap effect are both "activated". Now it's abour resolving them in any order you wish. Untapping Gaial Mobius first then Invasion, or Invasion first then untap.

[Rule 801.2 Evolution Creatures

An evolution creature evolved from a creature in the battle zone is treated as the same creature. It is tapped if evolved on a tapped creature, and effects that affect the non-evolution creature apllies to the evolution creature.]

That said, if Invasion is used before the untap effect, Gaial's "Untap this creature" would apply to Parasking also, since they're treated "as the same creature".

Either way, the evolved creature would be untapped either way, before breaking the shields.

Hope this helps. スリー (talk) 00:42, September 7, 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the ruling! Since the effects of the base creature affect the evolution creature, would the evolution creature's effects also be applied to the topmost evolution creature during multiple uses of invasion? For example, if Glenmalt, Dragon Edge attacks and you declare invasion with the following order: Glenmalt --> Redzone Neo --> Parasking, would Redzone Neo's untap ability affect Parasking and untap after the first attack? ExodusTCG (talk) 06:09, September 7, 2016 (UTC)

Redzone Neo's ability "triggers" at the end of the attack. Since it has already become Parasking mid-attack, the untap ability would not be able to trigger at the end of the attack since it no longer possesses that text, and thus cannot be untapped. スリー (talk) 14:48, September 7, 2016 (UTC)

"Put into the Battle Zone Tapped" VS "First Time This Creature Is Tapped, Untap"

What is the ruling on when a creature is "Put into the battle zone tapped" vs. "When this creature would be tapped for the first time each turn, untap it"?

i.e. If I have Ryusei In The Dark in the battle zone (which causes all non-darkness creature to be put into the battle zone tapped), and the opponent summons Glenmalt "Soul", Explosive Victory, then Glenmalt is put into the battle zone tapped, but does that count as "the first time this creature is tapped", or does Glen's ability refer to the [ACT] action of the player tapping it rather than starting out in the battle zone as automatically tapped? ExodusTCG (talk) 19:15, September 15, 2016 (UTC)

If a tap-in forcing creating (i.e. Ryusei/Elupheus) is in the battle zone and "Bolbalzark Sword Flash" is summoned, it is put into the battle zone tapped already. This is because it is put into the battle zone in a tapped state and not tapped when it is put into the battle zone.

Thus the action of "tapping" does not occur on Bolbalzark SF/Molt Soul, and they stay that way in the battle zone. Hope this helps. スリー (talk) 22:23, September 15, 2016 (UTC)

Death March Ruling

Can Death March, Reaper of Death be put into the battle zone onto a Darkness Evolution creature that was in your graveyard? His text and current rulings don't specify non-evolution. ExodusTCG (talk) 19:18, September 15, 2016 (UTC)

As long as it's a creature it does not matter whether it's a non-evo or not. Same for mana evo, other grave evos that do not specify whether the required material, unlike for example Bolshack Dogiragon, which needs a non-evo since its is specified.

However, if you try to devolve Death March into an evolution creature, there must be an evolution bait for that evolution creature for it to stay in the battle zone.

See Rule 801.4c. スリー (talk) 22:27, September 15, 2016 (UTC)

Ruling for Untap after Rev Change

If a creature was put into the battle zone tapped and attacking through its Rev Change ability, and an effect causes it to untap after the attack, can it attack again even if it doesn't have Speed Attacker? ExodusTCG (talk) 03:33, September 21, 2016 (UTC)

The creature put in the battle zone is treated as another creature, and since it's a new creature put into the battle zone that turn, it has summoning sickness and cannot attack again that turn. スリー (talk) 05:21, September 21, 2016 (UTC)

No problem, thanks for all the work you've been doing. Its been nice to have you and Gaialzero editing recently to improve certain things lately. I've been thinking it might be useful for you to look at using Template:DPL to find things for the support section. (although going through each set is a good way to find other things such as category additions). As you can do stuff like...
linksto=Beast Folk
notlinksfrom=Beast Folk

...that to find everything that links to say, Beast Folk. It would also include cards with the race, but it would find every single card that links to that race. Just put it into the talkpage of the race, or have a sandbox page like User:Type8/Sandbox that you can put these in. .

~ Yami Michael 03:06, January 27, 2019 (UTC)

I might just find some use for it. Thats a mighty handy tool.

Type8 (talk) 13:56, January 27, 2019 (UTC)

Hello, Yami!

I have couple of questions, but in advance sorry for bothering you, if ANY of the following questions have answers somewhere here on the wiki please send me to those links, as I'm really new with the wiki environment.

For now I have just a few formatting stuff:

  • 1.) You deleted a lot of lines from my edits. Should I delete empty lines? I made them just to have a clear view in Source for myself, but I can easily write everything one under another without any empty lines.
  • 2.) Should the actual tips be above the tabber or below it?
  • 3.) I'll include Scroll Box in the lists above 10 positions to make tabbers more steady. Also, if there is 2nd row in tabber I'll split it into two tabbers with up to 5 tabs on each. May I do this on every tabber I found on wiki?
  • 4.) I think I didn't saw in your Sandbox anything related to Force Draw (name just for now) cards like Cyclone Panic; Cyber N World or Over Skill. I think at least some small Category should be added at the bottom in "Related Categories", in Draw Page.

Thanks for your patience!

Olo.orlik (talk) 22:51, February 7, 2019 (UTC)

  • 1.) Yes. I do tend to leave a line above the {{Navigation}} but otherwise, yes.
  • 2.) There's no real rule for this. Ive done a large amount of both over the years.
  • 3.) Sounds good.
  • 4.) Probably leave that alone for now, but feel free to write down your own list of them. If you have enough of them (say, I dunno, 10+) than maybe it can be a category.

~ Yami Michael 00:46, February 8, 2019 (UTC)

Anytime you go to the same Tips Source edit page there is a new empty line at the top and between *(Asterisk) and tabber, just so you know, it changes despite leaving it without empty lines.

I checked Card Draw category and found some cards that can make page/category about forcing the opponent to draw a card;

- Cyber N World
- Cyclone Panic
- Astimart, Lord of Devils
- Over Skill, Rampaging Machine
- Aqua Farecollector
- Codename Aegis
- Duerou, Weapon of Dreams
- Final Heikkie
- Klujadras
- Melnia Emergency, Explosive Burst
- Steam Octopunk
- Veil Babylonia, Blue Divine Dragon

There were 2-3 cards with 'may' so I skipped them to not confuse them as true forced draw.

  • 1.) I saw you deleted Ladia Bale's 4-6 mana cost baits, was there something wrong with them? I know 10 mana or so isn't especially 'low cost', but I want to include as many baits, also with the same cost, because not every turn you can add mana or sometimes you can top-deck evolution with the cost of creature already in the battle zone.
  • 2.) Is there any way to include creatures in the tabber that have certain word in race, such as Cyber or Dragon, or only option is to make few tabbers with Cyber Virus; Cyber Lord; Zombie Dragon; Earth Dragon etc.? I'm about to start DM-08 with few Dragon evolutions and I'm concerned if I should include all possible Dragon races in Tips and if there is some easier way beside making 15+ tabbers?

Olo.orlik (talk) 20:47, February 12, 2019 (UTC)

That shouldn't be happening in source mode. Are you sure its source mode and not just the rich text editor?

I'll keep that in mind for the 'forced draw', thanks.

  • 1) Accident, so I reverted it. "Same as cost or lower" for evolution sources is fine.
  • 2) No, there's no good method for those sort of Race Category. And including multiple races there on a cards tip page is a mess. They might have something added to their support pages. ~ Yami Michael 00:00, February 13, 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for all your awesome work, michael! i just made a plugin for lackey ccg for duel masters, a modern and updated program that allows easy online play and offline deck management. would it be ok to link to that plugin on the start page to let people know they now can do that? Click here

Adding new category: Engine

Hey Michael!

I'm thinking about adding the "Engine" category. I have looked at the Draw Engine page a few times over the months and I feel like the page is inherently incomplete. Having consistent Draw is a fine addition to any deck, but one could argue that pursuing consistent Self Mill or Mana Acceleration is also a worthwile endeavor. I propose categorizing these cards as a catch-all term: "Engine".

I may have gone overboard with this one. Feel free to skip the wall of text and read the questions at the bottom of this post. They are the most important.

Definition of an "Engine":

Its "Engine" effect...
*Is able to be triggered consistently
**Whenever one of your creatures wins a battle...
***NOT: Whenever this creature wins a battle...
***Whenever one of your fire creatures wins a battle... can be consistently triggered in the right deck.
It is considered an "engine". Other variations like Whenever one of your "race"/"civilization"/"card type"...
can also be triggered consistently in the right decks
**At the start of each of your turns...
**Whenever your opponent draws a card...
**Whenever a creature is put into the battle zone...
***Whenever you put a creature into the battle zone...
**Whenever a creature leaves the battle zone/is destroyed...
***Whenever your creatures leaves the battle zone/is destroyed...
*Is a positive effect for the owner of the card
**While cards like Burial Worm, the Burying Insect might have effects considered negative effects in certain decks, they have positive effects in others. They are considered "engines"
*Provides Shield Addition, Mana Acceleration, Card Draw/Hand Addition, Graveyard Fertilizer, puts creatures into the battle zone or casts spells for no cost
*Is a Static Ability
**All card types that can have static abilities are qualifiable for being an "engine"
***Spells, by nature, do not provide static abilities. They are therefore excluded
***Cards like Doguraeater, D2M2 have static abilities under certain conditions. They are considered "engines"
*Is not triggered by attacking or blocking
**This is due to the unreliability of attacking (Shield Triggers, Ninja Strike, Strike Back, adding cards to the opponent's hand, Prevents Attacking etc.) and blocking (Unblockable, Blocker Removal, Prevents Blocking, etc.)
**Also the unpassivity of attacking. Attacking is the most used win condition. Breaking the opponent's shields brings forth the end of the game, which is not very engine-like.

A few examples of "Engines": Graveyard Engine

*Romanesk, the Dragon Wizard
*Burial Worm, the Burying Insect

Mana Engine

*Zundoko Sunny Stage, Flowery Way of D
*Sieg Nachtfalter
*Don Dodofel, Raging Battle Dragon
*Terraform, Kenda Magic
*Shura Beethoven, Zenith of "Hadou"

Draw Engine <-- has its own page

Shield Addition Engine

*Ov Sidia DG
*Endless Heaven, True Holy Church

Puts-creatures-into-the-battle-zone-or-casts-spells Engine

*Amidanazca, Super Destiny
*Welkius, Assault Gate Elemental
*Achernar, Star Gate Spirit / Stargaze Gate

Also this entire cycle --> Soelbo_Crawler/Trivia. They are triggered by 8-cost creatures and spells

+ many, many more

A few questions:
1. What do you think about this idea?
-1a. Is it necessary?
-1b. Should this be written as an article instead?
2. What do you think an "Engine" should be defined by?
3. Any other categories you think should be added?

Type8 (talk) 22:30, April 12, 2019 (UTC)

Somehow I never saw this message until just yesterday, and I do have some thoughts to it that I'll get to soon enough.

Draw Engine was mostly just a thing that existed due to the jpwiki page about it, but I may be tempted into others like Mana (or shield/graveyard). If they were to get a category, they would definitely have a article page as well explaining them (they should probably get that first, if anything.). Although, actually, theres already a dm-wiki page (really 2) that I keep wanting to make an equivalent of. Theres a Graveyard Use/Usage page that expands into a Graveyard Use/Usage meta page.— Shield Trigger Yami Michael Shield Trigger 10:47, May 19, 2019 (UTC)

To add a little extra, I like the definition of Engine from here.

A card or combination of cards which produce a powerful, often repeatable, effect, which does not win the game outright on its own, but is effective in “powering” other strategies. An engine often converts one resource into another. For example, Channel converts life points to mana, Mind Over Matter converts cards in hand to untaps of permanents, Skullclamp converts small creatures into cards in hand, and so on. Engines often form the heart of combos and are often restricted in tournaments due to being too effective.

The stuff like "whenever it wins a battle" is something that can trigger multiple times but its hard to differentiate everything that has a repeatable trigger and something that deserves the "engine" moniker, depending on what you want to consider a resource. Stuff like CiP trigger (or ETB), PiG trigger or "Attack Trigger" as a category have also been tempting at times too.— Shield Trigger Yami Michael Shield Trigger 10:53, May 19, 2019 (UTC)

Sempai Legends

Plz check Senatine Jade Tree/Gallery see if it looks any better. I saw something similar in yu-gi-oh wikia page. Saad safa 08:04, May 12, 2019 (UTC)

The images are still poor quality, and the pages seem better off with just the cards and their official artwork. Video game images are just...something we are honestly better off without. — Shield Trigger Yami Michael Shield Trigger 10:47, May 19, 2019 (UTC)
