Surprise Sarutobi appeared in the Star Cross series of the Manga.
Plot[]
He is a subordinate of Happening and isn't a member of Adams guard, and resembles a small, infant-like kid.
He first slashed Shobu while impersonating Shori which surprised him as he was thought to have been killed by White during the events of Fighting Edge (Shori was dead but is revived by Kokujo.) Just like Shori, he used a Fire and Nature dragon deck, but near the end of the fight he used creatures such as Bangren, Ancient Arhat and Pierr, Psycho Doll which Shori didn't. Despite confusing Shobu, in his direct attack against him using Bolbalzak "Sword Flash" Dragon, he used Hanzou, Menacing Phantom to stop the Sword Flash Dragon attack and revealing his identity. As Hakuoh interfered with the duel, the duel was stopped.
In his duel against Hakuoh he used his true deck which is a Light Water Darkness Fire Nature deck based on Shinobi. He used Kite Totem and Darkwind Dragoon, Darkfang Ninja to destroy Hakuoh's defense and Hakuoh used King Alcadeias, Holy Gaia to block his Ninja Strikes. He then used Greatest Earth, Planetary Dragon to draw and destroy Hakuoh's King Alcadeias but it was destroyed by Magic Shot - Arcadia Egg (which is usually impossible as Greatest Earth comes into the battle zone tapped). Hakuoh then sent out Nero Gryphis, Mystic Light Emperor and under the attack of Nero Gryphis and King Alcadeias, he was defeated. When Hakuoh tried to kill him, Shobu stopped him. Then he was never seen again.
