Super Deck Zero Duel is a tournament Regulation.
Details[]
It is an official tournament event based on the Super Deck Zero series of Theme Decks. As with other tournaments, regular Hall of Fame restrictions also applied.
The main component of this format was that only 10 cards from the Super Deck Zero decks could be replaced with other cards.
July 21 ~ September 17
- Around the DMC-36 Heaven of Dragon and DMC-37 Violence Angel releases, a foil participation award of Geometeus Infinite Dragon, and Ulcelios, Holy Core Elemental were given out.
Second and Third place winners were given an alternate art version with the characters based on them printed.
November 23 ~ January 14
- The format was renamed to "Super Deck Zero Duel Ⅱ".
In addition to the previously released Super Deck Zero decks, DMC-38 Castle of Demon and DMC-39 Victory Soul can be used.
If you participated with the DMC-36 or DMC-39 deck, you were given Valgazak, Matchless Dragonmech.
If you participated with the DMC-37 or DMC-38 deck, you were given Olgias, Champion of the Evil Fortress.
Second and Third place winners were given an alternate art version with the characters based on them printed.
Even if you didn't own the Super Deck Zero products, cards with the same exact name as the cards in it could be substituted, and weren't counted as part of the 10 cards that could be exchanged. However, it was initially impossible to recreate the DMC-40 Heavy Death Metal deck due to the number of its exclusive cards. This was later made easier, however no tournaments of this nature had since been heeld.
There are no restrictions in using a deck that had both Silver and Black bordered cards.
- However, if you used more copies of a card that was initially in the deck, then that is counted as the 10 cards allowed to be exchanged. (e.g. Using 3 copies of Flaming Jet Dragon in the DMC-36 deck.)
