Category for Recycle

Recycle is a keyword shared between each of the 5 monocolored civilizations.

Details[]

All spells with this ability have specified costs for recasting the spell from your graveyard. After they are cast again, they are put on the bottom of the deck to prevent additional casts.

As they can be cast from your graveyard, even if they weren't cast regularly and were discarded from your hand, you can still cast them at least once for a higher cost so the Recycle ability does contribute some resistance to Card Discard.

Cards such as Fuuma Gorgonshack or Mil Armor, Mecha King Vizier will increase the Alternative Cost of spells cast by the Recycle ability.

Alexander the 3rd, Emperor of the Demonic Eye allows you to cast the spell 3 times, once normally, twice with Alexanders ability and then a third time with the Recycle ability which will then put it on the bottom of your deck.

By putting the card on the bottom of you deck, this allows you to know the bottom card for a card such as Rumble, Temporal Sage.

Each card with the ability features 3 triangles around the cost of the spell.

Trivia[]

  • This ability is likely designed after the Flashback keyword from Magic: The Gathering, where Instant and Sorcery spells could also be cast from the players graveyard for an alternative cost.
    • Additionally, when it was introduced, it had a Gravestone icon next to the card name of the card, similar to the triangles featured on cards with Recycle, however this Gravestone icon was later scrapped.
