Characteristics
While they are lower in rarity than Very Rares, Due to the high number of possible Rares in a set it can be quite difficult to find the rare one wants. A player may even go through 2 to 3 boxes without finding the Rare he or she wants. Therefore, they are basically the same as Very Rares in terms of packaging rate.
Rares tend to be consisted of solid and useful cards, such as Aqua Surfer, Terror Pit, Soulswap, Hyperspatial Guard Hole, DNA Spark, Death Gate, Gate of Hell and many more.
Rares can be the target of alternate mode cards such as Dramatic Cards and Mode Change Cards. If an extremely useful card such as Intense Vacuuming Twist or Glenmolt, Dragon Edge ends up having these alternate versions, These cards can be 5 to 10 times their original price. As every box may only contain at most a Rare of these alternate versions, they are extremely difficult to pull from a box.
