Key Card is a term for a card that forms the core of a deck strategy based on its concept.
Details
Depending on the deck type, you might struggle if you can't demonstrate the power of the key card.
Therefore, when fighting your opponent, it becomes important to protect that card. Also if you were able to prevent your opponent from playing their key card, your chances of winning will increase.
For these reasons, its important to quickly analyze your opponents played cards quickly to determine the key cards of what their deck are (and may be).
