Guard Strike is a keyword.
Details[]
The ability appears on creatures as well as spells.
After a card with Guard Strike is added to your hand from your shields, you are able to show it to your opponent, choose one of your opponents creatures and prevent it from attacking that turn.
While similar to the Shield Trigger or Strike Back abilities, the card remains in your hand after being shown.
It is similar to the "Prin Effect", but it only prevents a creature from attacking, and only for the current turn.
Many cards have received new versions of themselves with the Guard Strike ability, but new cards such as Bolshack Momoking and Dolmark-2, Shadow Warrior have also been released.

Rulings[]
- Q. What kind of ability is "Guard Strike"?
- A. It is an ability that triggers when you add it from your shield zone to your hand. You are able to show that card to your opponent and prevent one of your opponent's creatures from attacking. source
- Q. How do you use "Guard Strike"?
- A. When you put a card that has "Guard Strike" into your hand from your shield zone, show that card to your opponent and declare that you will use the ability. Then, when resolving, you are able to choose one of your opponent's creatures and cause it to be unable to attack. source [2021.12.17]
- Q. My opponent attacked with Momodachi Kentnark and broke one of my shields with the "whenever this attacks" ability. If the broken shield was a card with "Guard Strike" such as Bolshack Dragon GS, can I stop the attack of Momodachi Kentnark?
- A. No, you can't. While you are able to choose the attacking creature with "Guard Strike", the attack has already been declared, and can't be prevented. source
- Q. I have Hakumei Doji in my hand. One of my broken shields was Bolshack Dragon GS. When I put that card in my hand, am I able to use the "Strike Back" ability of Hakumei Doji as well as the "Guard Strike" ability?
- A. Yes, you may use both. In that case, declare that you will use both abilities at the time you add them to your hand. After you discard the Bolshack Dragon GS and summon Hakumei Doji with the Strike Back ability, resolve the "Guard Strike" ability. source [2021.12.17]
- Q. The two cards added to my hand at the same time were Emergency Typhoon and Bolshack Dragon GS. I declared "Shield Trigger" and "Guard Strike". If I used Emergency Typhoon and discarded Bolshack Dragon GS, am I still able to use the "Guard Strike" ability?
- A. Yes, you can. If you declared the use of "Guard Strike" when it was added to your hand, you can still use the ability even if it didn't stay in your hand and was discarded by the Emergency Typhoon. source
- Q. My opponent has Spell Del Fin, Light Divine Dragon in the battle zone, so I can't cast spells. One of my broken shields was Faerie Re:Life. Am I able to use "Guard Strike"?
- A. Yes. Using "Guard Strike" is not casting a spell. source
- Q. I have Lionel, Zenith of "Ore" in the battle zone. One of my broken shields was Bolshack Dragon GS. Can I use both "Guard Strike" and the "Shield Trigger" ability given by Lionel, Zenith of "Ore"?
- A. Yes, you may use both. You can resolve them in either order. You may resolve 'Guard Strike' and then summon 'Bolshack Dragon GS' with Shield Trigger, or summon the 'Bolshack Dragon GS' and then resolve the Guard Strike. source [2021.12.17]
- Q. Genmu Emperor, Infinite Dragon is in the battle zone, so the effects of spells that cost 5 or last are ignored. One of my broken shields was Faerie Re:Life. Can I use its "Guard Strike" ability?
- A. You are able to declare the usage of "Guard Strike". However, while the spells ability isn't ignored, and the "Guard Strike" ability can trigger and be declared, the effect of spells are ignored, so nothing happens as a result. source
- Q. Genmu Emperor, Infinite Dragon is in the battle zone, so the effects of spells that cost 5 or last are ignored. Two of my shields are broken, containing Faerie Re:Life and Terror Pit. I declared the use of Terror Pit to destroy the Genmu Emperor, Infinite Dragon. Can I then the "Guard Strike" ability of Faerie Re:Life?
- A. Yes, you can. When the Genmu Emperor, Infinite Dragon leaves the battle zone, its Static Ability of ignoring spell effects is gone. The effects of Faerie Re:Life won't be ignored, so you can use "Guard Strike" without issue. source
