It was first mentioned on FORBIDDEN ~Star of Forbidden~.

Initially, there was no card that has "Forbidden Field" as an exact card type, but FORBIDDEN STAR ~World's Last Day~ was later released in DMR-23 Dogiragolden VS Dormageddon X with the Final Forbidden Field card type.

In 2021, DMEX-17 20th Anniversary Huge Thanks Memorial Pack: The Chapter of The Ultimacy Dueking MAX released FORBIDDEN SUNRISE ~Dawn of Forbidden~.
