Face Up | |

Face Up refers to cards that can be seen by both players.
- See also: Face Down
Details[]
For example, if your shield is turned up, it becomes public information while it's in your shields. This is also true for your deck.
- You don't lose for seeing the card in your deck, only when the last card is drawn.
The effect of Magmadragon Balga Geyser is sometimes misunderstood due to the lack of annotation of where the revealed card goes if it's not explicitly stated (unlike a card such as Magmadragon Balga Geyser). In this case, the card is just returned to the original zone.
8 Emperor Kiriko |
---|
Water / Evolution Creature Cyber Lord + Origin 13000 |
■ Evolution—Put on one of your creatures that has Cyber in its race or one of your Origins. |
6 Magmadragon Balga Geyser |
---|
Fire / Creature Volcano Dragon 5000+ |
■ Whenever this creature attacks, you may reveal the top card of your deck. If that card is a Dragon, put that card into the battle zone. If it's not a Dragon, put that card into your graveyard. |
6 The Universe Gate |
---|
Fire / Spell |
■ Reveal the top 3 cards of your deck. For each Phoenix creature revealed, take an extra turn after this one. |
6 Aqua Master |
---|
Water / Creature Liquid People 4000 |
■ Whenever this creature is attacking your opponent and isn't blocked, choose one of your opponent's shields and turn it face up. (It stays face up while it's in the shield zone.) |
The deck, hand, and shields are all originally considered private information. On the other hand, cards in the mana zone, graveyard and hyperspatial zone are public information that can be viewed by both players at any point of the game.
After the resolution of an effect, the card tends to return to the same zone it was revealed from, unless it was specifically noted. For example, The Universe Gate above has no instructions on what to do with a revealed card. After being revealed, they are put back face down.
Aqua Master and Search Armor Garongar have an ability that forces the card to stay face up while they are in the battle zone.
- When the ability of the card puts a card into play face up, such as Shield Go, Jail House Lock, Jail of D or Saint Reverse, the card stays that way until the end of the game.
Once the cards become public information, the cards must be chosen if they are forced to. (Since the opponent can't distinguish whether there is an appropriate card in a private zone.)
- For example, if your opponent casts a spell while you have Codefight Agatha Hercule, even if you previously saw your shields and knew there was a spell, you can choose not to look at your shields and not cast it. However, if there was a face up spell in your shields, you must use it.
- When a shield consisting of 2 more shield cards are revealed face up by Shield Plus or Jail House Lock, only the top card is treated as face up.
- Neither player can "look" at cards in the deck if Mestapo, the Patroller is in the battle zone, but the cards can be revealed face up.
