Dueparty is a multiplayer format.

Details[]

This format is the Official Rule variant of the fan-format of "DMEDH", which was previously based on the Commander (or Elder Dragon Highlander) format of Magic: The Gathering).

However, these rules are intended as a base set of "recommended rules" for players to follow. If each of the players agree, rules can be removed and added to their liking.

Deck Construction[]

Gameplay[]

  • You start the game with 6 cards in your hand and 6 shields.
  • Your Partners starts the game in the "Partner Zone".
    • You can summon your Partner from this zone as if it were in your hand.
    • You can't cast the spell side of a Twinpact card from the Partner Zone.
  • When your Partner would be put into a zone other than the battle zone or Partner Zone, you may put your partner into your Partner Zone face down.
    • While that creature is face down, your Partner can't be summoned.
    • Your face down Partner will be turned face up at the end of your next turn. (If its put face down into your partner zone during your turn, it won't be turned face up at the end of that turn, but will be turned face up at the end of your next turn.
  • Extra Turns and extra win effects are ignored.
    • For example, Unidentified can put any number of creatures from your hand into the battle zone, but your opponent doesn't get an Extra Turn.
  • Each player can only play 1 card a turn that has the same name. (Example: With a card such as Now or Never)

Player Loss[]

  • A defeated player's cards are removed immediately from the game and standby effects are removed.
  • If the losing player was the Active Player, the game immediately proceeds to the End Step.
  • Continuous effects that last until the losing player's next turn last until the end of the player's turn before the losing player.
  • If player C loses with an effect that lasts "until the start of C's turn" while proceeding with turns A → B → C → D, the effect will remain until the end of B's ​​turn.

Choosing a Player[]

  • Each other player is considered to be your Opponent.
  • As a general rule, a Static Ability that affects your opponents will affect all players other than yourself.
  • As a general rule, other than static abilities, you must choose a player other than yourself as an opponent, with the chosen player receiving the effect.
  • You can choose an opponent whose game state wont change. Even if the only other player with a creature is Player A with Supernova Apollonus Dragerion, you can choose to cast Terror Pit against Player B.
  • If the word "opponent" appears multiple times in an effect's text, treat the effect as if they all refer to the same player.
    • When you put Codeking Wilhelm, the destroyed creatures and mana burn are the same player.
    • When you play Gachinko Judge, you choose one opponent, and if you win, it all affect that opponent.
    • For modal cards, each choice can have different opponents.
      • For the Decrease Power ability of Perfect Darkness, you can choose a different player's creature.
  • A card that must be revealed to your opponent is revealed to all players.
  • A card that affects "Each player" will affect you and the other 3 opponents.
    • When you put White Swan, each player will shieldify the top 2 cards of their deck.
    • When you put Manhattan's Memory, one of your creatures and one of your opponent's is chosen, to then affect one of their creatures. However, each player will put creatures into their mana zone.
    • If you are the only player with creatures when you cast Spiral Gate, you can't choose an opponent, and must return one of your creatures.

Attacking[]

  • When you attack, you can choose a player other than the attack target for a Attack Trigger ability.
  • "Whenever an opponents creature attacks" abilities will trigger even whenever a player other than yourself is attacked.
  • Abilities that change the attack target can only be used when you or your creatures are attacked.
  • If a creature has a "attack this creature if able" ability, you must attack that creature, even if you want to attack another player.

Revolution Change[]

  • Q: Can I use Revolution Change with my Partner creatures?
    • A: Yes, as long as the conditions are met. The Partner creature then goes into your hand. For this purpose, please sleeve your Partner with the same sleeve used for the rest of your deck.
  • Q: Can I use Revolution Change with my Partner creature that has an EX Life shield?
    • A: Only if the EX Life shield has been removed. If the shield is in your shield zone, the Revolution Change fails.

Ability Words[]

Onitime / Labyrinth[]

Before February 11, 2023, the effects depended on whether you and one chosen opponent had the total 6 shields or less, as well as if it was a Static Ability, or a Trigger Ability / Spell Ability.

  • Example 1 : A situation where you have 4 shields, player A has 2 shields, and player B has 4 shields.
  • Example 2: A situation where you have 4 shields, player A has 2 shields, and player B has 4 shields.
    • In the above situation, if Assault, Onifuda Kingdom! is cast, both abilities can only be used if player A is chosen. You wouldn't be able to destroy player B's creature and also reanimate a creature from your graveyard.
    • In the above situation, if you use Wonder Turtle, Great Labyrinth Turtle, you must choose player A to have your creatures not leave the battle zone until your next turn.

Now, after February 11, 2023, as long as one of your opponents is under the conditions of Ontime or Labyrinth abilities, the ability will be active.
