Return of the Survivor is the 5th booster pack in the OCG.
Details[]
This set features many cards that have abilities that "hate" against other civilizations such as Gigakail and Lurking Eel (similar to DM-04 featuring cards that exclusively did this between Light and Darkness).
It also introduces several creatures whose power and cost exceeds most of the creatures at that time.
Avalanche Giant is seen on this booster pack illustration.
This set has an English equivalent, DM-05 Survivors of the Megapocalypse.
Races[]
This set introduces the following races:
- All Civilizations
It is the first race to appear in each of the civilizations, as well as having creatures that have 2 races before the later introduction of multicolored creature cards.
This race also features the Survivor keyword, which allows them to share a specific ability with each of your Survivor creatures in the battle zone.
Keywords[]
This set introduces the following keywords:
Triple breaker (This creature breaks 3 shields.) |
Speed attacker (This creature doesn't get summoning sickness.) |
Survivor (Each of your Survivors has this creature's ![]() |
- Also, the Saver ability made its informal appearance in this expansion.
Saver: "RACE" (When one of your "RACE" would be destroyed, you may destroy this creature instead.) |

Trivia[]
- All Super Rares in this set have been reprinted for at least once, usually due to nostalgia value as the super rares in this set had bought huge impacts to older fans of the game when they first appeared, especially Billion-Degree Dragon.
- No evolution creatures were included in this set, which is unique for most DM-series booster packs with the exception of DM-01 before they were a card type.
