DG Field is a field card type.

Details

DG May stand for DraGon or Dragon Generator.

It is a Field card type. Therefore, it allows effects from cards such as Dorhakaba, Final Forbidden Delta to be used.

Due to the D2 Field restriction not being present, putting a D2 Field into the battle zone doesn't affect it at all. There is no limit to the number of DG Fields you can expand into play. The only way to remove a DG Field from the battle zone is to use Card Removal.
