This line of text first appeared in DM-09 on a cycle of cards with a Tap Ability, a cycle of spells as well as Petrova, Channeler of Suns.
It also includes the Commune Spell cycle in DM-19 Spectacle Nova.

Rulings[]
- You can't choose a Race Category that don't exist as a single race. This includes Command, Command Dragon, Cyber, and Knightmare.
- The Abyss Revolution block included the newer race categories of Armored, Abyss, Magic and Mecha that also can't be chosen.
- You can however choose races that are also a Race Category such as Giant (which also covers races such as Giant Insect and Giant Dragon) or Knight (which also covers Funky Knightmare and Dark Knightmare).
- Dragon (printed on Crimson NEXTREME, Explosive Dragon Mystery) and Monster (printed on Beholder, Orderly General) were also printed on a card as a single race, so are allowed as a choice.
- You can't choose races that only exist on Game Original Cards such as "Holy Dragon".
