A card such as Terror Pit can be useless as a form of removal if your opponent has creatures with an Unchoosable ability. However, Choice Removal cards can counteract that ability. The cost of these are often reduced in comparison to their counterparts.
- Cards such as Gigajadou can make your opponent choose multiple of their creatures, negating the disadvantage of being unable to choose what you want to destroy.
Cards with even more specific conditions (requiring an untapped creature) exist; Chaser Hand as a counterpart to the original Death Smoke.
