- Replacement effects don't chain, and due to the rule that the active turn player's replacement effect occurs before the non-active players, the break replacement effect from Bolmeteus Steel Dragon or Miracle Star, Heaven Revolutionary Knight Emperor can't be used at the same time with your own shield saver.
- Since the active player is prioritized, during your turn, if your opponent uses the effect of Stolm Shekiner to have those creatures win a battle, they will break shields. In the cast of a break, the Shield Saver or Jogirasta the Johnny take precedence, and the shields can be protected.
- "Break" and "Add to hand" have different processing, so a card such as Hanabishi Hanako that return one of your shields to your hand can't be replaced with Shield Saver.
- When 2 shields are broken at the same time ('Shield A' and 'Shield B') and Shield A is fortified with Silver Glory, Invincible Fortress, if Shield B is added to your hand with the break replacement effect of the Silver Glory, then the 'Shield B' is added to your hand without being a broken. (As a card added to your hand with Silver Glory isn't considered to broken.)
- The break replacement effect occurs per shield. Therefore if you would break 2 shields with Adamski, S-Rank Space, the effect of "puts the top 2 cards of their deck into their graveyard instead." will occur twice, for a total of 4 cards that will be put into the graveyard from the deck.
- However, if there is a condition of "when one or more are broken" like Jogirasta the Johnny, even if it 2 or more shields are broken, the replacement effect will only occur once.
- If a break replacement effect occurs for multiple shields at the same time, the replacement effects will be resolved in the order you want.
- Therefore when you a choosing the 2 shields to break with Bolmeteus Steel Dragon and 'burning' them it's replacement effeect, instead of putting 2 shields into the graveyard at the same time, they are put into the graveyard one at a time. Also, since the resolution of a triggered ability can't be interrupted during a break, even if the first shield was a card such as Kubrick, Spiral Accelerator, the bounce ability will only resolve after the second shield has been processed.
- An abilities that triggers after attacking a player and breaking a shield, won't trigger. Therefore when a break replacement effect occurs, an ability such as Turbo Rush won't trigger.
- A break replacement effect won't work if a break doesn't occur in the first place, such as with Silver Glory, Perfect Castle.
