Armored Dragon is a race of Dragon creature in the Fire Civilization.

Nomenclature

Most Armored Dragon creatures feature "Dragon" as a suffix.

Armored Dragon evolution creatures feature 超竜ちょうりゅう (Chōryū) meaning Ultra or Super Dragon. This has been translated as "Überdragon" for the English release.

  • In the German language, "über" is used as a prefix as well as a word. "Über" translates to "over", "above", "meta" and "super". So in the case of "Überdragon Bajula" it can be translated as "Ultradragon" or "Superdragon".

Gameplay

They are the one of the many races of Dragon and also the first race of Dragon introduced to the game. Both Armored Dragons and Fire Birds such as the Lupia clan have many effects to compliment each other in battle.

Certain Armored Dragons such as Bolshack Dragon and Bolmeteus Steel Dragon have continued to appear and improve throughout the sets in many various versions such as Samurai, NEX, or even Psychic Creatures.

Note that in the Beginner's Block, an "Armored Dragon Deck" is considered weak and un-competitive as proper support for them has not been invented yet and most Armored Dragons at that time are Quasi-Vanilla fatties.

Story

Armored Dragons are the most powerful creatures in the Fire civilization. Covered in armor and worshiped by Dragonoids, they have existed since long before the Ancient War. Their knowledge of war and weaponry is technologically far superior to that which we humans currently possess.

Armored Dragons communicate in their own ancient language. Although they understand other races’ languages, pride prevents them from speaking any of it. Highly intelligent and individualistic, each acts according to his own values and philosophy. One Armored Dragon may appear on the battlefield as a God of the Dragonoids, while another may absent himself from the rest of the world in order to meditate undisturbed among the ruins.

Armored dragons are often used by Shobu Kirifuda and Shori in the original duel masters and are often saviours in the Duel Masters Timeline. As a result, they can be considered as the center race in the original duel masters. However, their "center race" status has been given away to the Red Command Dragons (Then to Outrages) in Episode 1 and in Episode 2 they were even dominated by the Unknowns.
