Adds Race is a term given to cards with an ability that adds additional races onto your other creatures.

Q-tronic Omnistrain was the first appearance of this ability, giving the Survivor race to each of your creatures.

■ Each of your Aliens in the battle zone, your mana zone, and your graveyard is a Hunter in addition to it's other races.
■ Each of your Hunters in the battle zone, your mana zone, and your graveyard is an Alien in addition to it's other race(s).
■ When this creature loses a battle, it stays in the battle zone instead of going to your graveyard.


3 Surprise Illusion

Shield Trigger Shield trigger (When this spell is put into your hand from your shield zone, you may cast it immediately for no cost.)
■ Choose a race of creature. Each of your creatures in the battle zone have that creature's race until the end of the turn.


One use of adding races to creatures is to for evolution creatures.

Also, a card such as Jumasol, Bloodcurdling Fuuma can be used to turn your Grand Devils into Demon Commands to fulfill the Gravity Zero requirements of Dulanzames, Jet-Black War Demon

Adding a Command race can allow an easier Invasion ability of Redzone, and Prin Princess, Pandora Celeb allows evolution support to Gaial, King of Kaiser.

However, some races can be a demerit to have due to creatures such as Gal Volf, Dark Wolfblade or Bell Hell De Bran, Battle Reaper.

There are currently no cards that add races to cards in your hand or Hyperspatial Zone.

History[]

Adding a race to themselves by their Accelerator ability was introduced to creatures in the Reincarnation Saga with cards such as Aqua Moon Edge.

Phoenix Saga introduced cards that can add races to cards in your graveyard with Jumasol, Bloodcurdling Fuuma in DM-21 History of Devil Nova, while Surprise Illusion that can add any race to a creature was in DM-20 The Ultimate Nova.

Episode 1 was the first block to include cards that added a race to cards in your mana zone, with Prin Prin, the Eternal in DMR-03 Gaial Victory.

The Revolution block introduced cards that can add Command races to cards in battle zone to ease Invasion. DMX-21 Masters Chronicle Pack: Comic of Heroes released Universe Lapia, a card that can add the Phoenix race to cards in your mana zone, deck, graveyard and battle zone.

  • It is also the first card that can add races to cards that are not creatures.
