Adds Civilization is a characteristic fixing ability.

The first appearance of this ability was in DM-13 Eternal Phoenix, with Courtney, Summer Breeze Faerie.
|Nature/ Creature |
■ Cards in your mana zone are considered to be cards of every civilization.
|Light/ Creature |
■ Each of your water and nature creatures in the battle zone are also light creatures.
■ Each of your other light creatures in the battle zone gets +1000 power.
|Darkness/ Creature |
Zombie Dragon + Knight
■ When you put this creature into the battle zone, discard a card. If you don't, destroy this creature.
■ Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.)
■ Each of your spells in your graveyard are also darkness cards.
As cards can also add civilizations to your creatures in the battle zone, they can have synergy with cards such as Cataclysmic Eruption or Hydro Hurricane that have effects based on having how many creatures in that battle zone you have with a specific civilization. It can also help prevent destruction of your non-darkness cards if you use a card such as Ballom, Master of Death
As Courtney adds civilizations to cards in your mana zone, it works well with Minmei, Beautiful Faerie and Breakable Dragon as all cards become multicolored. However, due to Stealth abilities or Mega Manalock Dragon, it can also be a disadvantage.
Gordnov the 5th, Demonic Eyed Death Dragon is the first card where civilizations were added to cards in your graveyard. When conditions are met, Future, Mage of Cobalt is the first card where additional civilizations can be added to cards in your deck. There is no way to add civilizations to cards in other zones such as your hand or shields.
Due to cards in your mana zone getting all civilizations, a card such as Yuuko, Snow Cloth Faerie would require 5 cards to be tapped as each civilization needs to be tapped to use its Mana Reburst ability.
